ive done the whole gas scene for a little while (i built a prather 46" deep vee- my first boat), and im thinkin that electric sounds interesting. I have experience with electric r/c through cars, but there is a big difference between cars and boats once you get past the basics.
Here's what im looking for:
30-35 inches long,
good top speed (30 mph range would be nice)
good high speed handling
good rough water handling (deep vee is the way to go- looked at stepped hulls, but they dont seem as stable),
is stable if it goes airborn

From what ive read, a 12-16 cell setup is the way to go (prolly go with sum gp's), brushless would be nice (i have b/l in my car- love it), but i have no idea what size to get. Lehner or hacker looks good, with a CC barracuda esc. Only problem is i havent found a hull i truly like yet.
Also, how do cats. handle in rough water? i find the idea of a cat to be interesting, though i dont know much about them.
other questions-
can i completely waterproof most electric boats(in case i flip)
why is it that the rudder is always off-center from the prop, and does that affect the handling in any way?

so anyways, post what ya'll like, good electronics, w/e you can think of to get me rollin.
Peace, love and cornbread

Re;waterproofing
I believe its possible(think the makers say that the reef racer is) though I have wondered if, one manages(in their zeal) to get it not only waterproof, but air tight, then after a hard run, would it blow bubbles out the stuffing box? :)
