Tell me the pro's and cons of the T and E-maxx's. I'm going to be buying one soon, possibly tonight. Also is the Pro. 15 engine as hard to keep tuned and underpowered as I have read on other boards?
Thanks for any opinions or advice.

T-Maxx... Fast top end... Pretty good get up and go.... a little more "tinkering" than an E. A little more Messy (fuel and stuff).
E-Maxx... Insane start off power.... Pretty good top end for an electric... Not much tinkering to do. Less Messy...
However... There is just nothing like starting up nitro... but it's really up to you what you are ready to deal with. I spend a bunch of time tweaking mine in my home hobby shop... I like "tinkering" a bunch. Some guys would rather not have to spend a lot of time tinkering....
Hey... did I say tinker too much... :D
Good Luck... you will not go wrong with either purchase.

T-MAXX pros:
Its nitro!
Fast 30MPH top speed
lots of hop ups
super plush suspension
its a monster truck!
they have way cooler painted bodys then the E
Dont have to wait for batterys to charge fuel her up and go
Cons:
The TRX .15 engine is crap
rolls over at high speeds (same with E)
when jumping for the sky those a-arms will give some times (get rpm a-arms if they break rpm will replace them for free)
thats about it, i have a T-MAXX the TRX .15 enigne SU CKS i just bought a OS CVX Hyper. if you buy an engine get it.

Half the stuff named for the T-maxx comes with the E-maxx.

about the OS CVX... Please tell me a little about the engine and how hard it was to install... did you have to purchase anything to make it fit or was it a simple installation??? I am looking to upgrade and would like to know. Also... can it do a wheelie now???

nitroracer911, if you make sure and buy tthe "SHORT" shaft model on that engin it will drop right in...you will still need a new linkage setup however.

I'm back in the saddle again....(singing)
I just order a T-Maxx. Had to use mail order because there is no LHS :( . I priced out both the T and the E-Maxx, with the equipment I wanted the T came out cheaper to the tune of about 150 bones. I wanted at least 4 Maxx Paxx, so at $45 each that was a good portion of the E's cost. I could have ordered a case of fuel for T and still came out cheaper, I only order 2 quarts. I probalby should have ordered the case. What kind of shelf life does Nitro have???
I plan on running alot in a park close to my house. There is some good off-roading there.
Wish me luck, I'm hoping to drum up some intrest in RC in my town(of about 100K). Why does is there no RC intrest in my town you ask? Who knows, the town not having a LHS or track is probably a major contributor to that. Anyway I also figured the Nitro would attract more attention simply because of the sound and it's "Gee-wiz" factor. Maybe in a few months I'll have a few new friends to bash RC's with.

nitroracer, there is no short shaft version of the engine. We at maxx traxx would love a short shaft version. And if there was we'd buy it instead of cutting a crank.
its not hard. i took every thing off the trx. shaft in 15 minutes today, mainly becuase i had to run downstairs to get some other tools.
this thread i i posted should answer all of your questions. it tell you step by step http://pub13.ezboard.com/fmaxximumtraxxasfrm60.showMessage?topicID=1831.top ic
good luck!

you need to make your own linkage or go to www.maxxlite.com (http://www.maxxlite.com) and buy the linkage kit like i did for $25. you have to use a dremel or somekinda moto tool and cut the crank shaft down to 5 full threads. and install the clutch bell and every thing onto the os form the trx engine. and just drop it right in. wear a glove during break in becuase the cooling head is sharp.

Hey Ateam, check out www.maxxtraxx.com (http://www.maxxtraxx.com)
I recommend putting 50wt oil in the shocks, it stops the body roll that the stock fluid allows. great truck. I kinda miss mine.

Thanks for the tips Interceptor. I'll be ordering some aluminum shocks before too long. I like Associated shocks so I probably get their set for the T.
That Maxxtraxx has some beastly machines on it! I like the twin engine idea, and it really doesn't look all that tough to do.
