i went out to run my T3 at my local track today and i had a blast! its free to run there and its outdoor so it was really neat. its not an off road track.. its a t-maxx off road track! or at least it sure seemed that way cuz was i not the only electric out there i was the only electric stadium truck. there was a stampede and a nitro MT there but other wise it was all t-maxx's. i ran my little stock reedy fire hawk and it was pretty fast. is the 20 turn AE engine faster? the guy at my LHS said that most good 27 turn stock motors can outrun them. anyway, i'm hooked on the t/e-maxx now! lol. i'm an electric guy but i have GOT to get one of these monster trucks! should i save up and get a t-maxx or pick up an e-maxx since i've already got everything and it would be alot cheaper. i heard that the e-maxx's can run on average a 7-minute run time. or should i pick up a stampede? i think i'm gonna stay electric cuz it would be alot cheaper and easier. but if i went nitro, what would i need and, on average, what would it cost? thanks alot for all replies!!

If you are limited on cash I would get the E-Maxx. You already have the stuff so it would be cheaper and easyer. If you got the cash and want to try something different and want to get into Nitro go T-Maxx.

Well to get started in nitro you wouldn't need that much, the tmaxx has the ez starter which requires batts and a charger, you got those already, you need nitro and maybe a glow plug ignitor, which is better than using the blue wire to the glow plug, oh and u might want to pick up a spare glow plug if u did get one, otherwise thats pretty much it. :D

I still think you would have much more fun with a tmaxx. They come ready to run and they run pretty good out of the box. You just need a fuel bottle, glow ignitor and a little bit of pratice, you can get both for under 20 bucks.
The emaxx is cool but 7 minute run time kinda stinks. The nitro tmaxx comes with a pretty big fuel tank and that motor doesn't really **** gas. I bet your fuel bill will be less than 20 bucks a month with use like every other day for a couple hours.
