When selling your custom bodies (for those of you that do) do you put your signature on the car anywhere, be it a logo or name?

i dont sell bodies, but i think thats a good idea... sign it under the hood or something in a safe spot then spray a few layers of clear coat on top of the signature to keep it there :)

I used to spray a mist coat through a stencil. I just cut a new stencil to do the same again. People will hire you because they like your paint. Your paint is your art and it should be signed. Sign it so that the sig can be see with the car on the ground. I used the rear windows a lot but I've also put my sig into the design when I could.

Yea Airboston, those were around the same lines I was thinking. I wanted to check though because I wasnt sure if people would like that or not.

Now the fun part, designing a logo!

If people don't like your sig, then they don't like your work. There isn't an artist I know who would let their work go without a signature. Here is a line to cross. Are you an artist producing a piece or just someone squirting paint like a building contractor paint a wall.

I haven't designed my logo yet as I don't know what I want. Lately, I've been signing all my shirts with just my first name.

Looks good. Do you have a vinyl cutter? If my wallet was bigger I'd get one, because the possibilities are endless with a cutter and photoshop/illustrator.

you can use a sharpie from the inside before you paint, I have done that in the past, now I have decals, I am also working a a stencil for a logo I can ghost into every body.

Just paint in the house. I rigged up a bathroom exhaust fan over my studio and while I should have gone with a bigger fan, it works pretty good. I mostly shoot createx, but will clear small items too.

i used to have a pic but i can't find it or just don't have it anymore. it was just a really small H in the back corner of a side window. sometimes i did it freehand sometimes with a stencil sometimes even multi color. whatever i did the H was never bigger that the eraser on the end of a pencil.

On all my bodies, I cut my own window trim and include my company name in the front windsheild top strip.

Having a vinyl cutter helps. :D

Could you not use some print on decal stuff, the see through stuff, and then put a clear coat over it...?

(Im presuming there is such a thing available...)

a vinyl cutter or plotter makes perfect stencils of letters, numbers, shapes, etc. it's really just a nice thing to have if you paint a lot. most painters consider details like that "tricks of the trade" and are much less than willing to tell anyone what they use.

Nice for those of us who cant draw but can use computer software to make body details
