I personally don't have one, but I know a few people that do. The opinions I get are about 50/50. One guy has nothing but problems, the others haven't really decided yet if it was a waist of money. I'm gonna wait for the next generation rx.

I have the Novak XXtra, works great with my Multiplex Profi.

I use the same setup as Ras, and I have ZERO problems. It works perfectly for me. I totally dig my XXtra; now I just need a Tx module to match.

I have two of them, they work awesome. I don't see how you could have a problem with them unless you don't set it right. I have used mine with a Multiplex 403, a Hitec Lynx, and a Hitec Lynx 3D. They are not a waste of money if you find it as hard as I do to find receiver crystals.

They are far from a waste of money! Consider this: I bought my XXtra at my local track for $85 brand new. If you buy an Airtronics FM receiver, or a Novak, or whatever, and then turn around and buy 3 sets of FM crystals at $20-30 a pop, you're spending WAY over $100 for less flexibility. I paid $85 and have the ability to use any damned channel I want. THAT is cool...
