Do they have enough ground clearance tpo play with in an average parking lot? Or do they need a prepaired surface like a track? I've run TL01's in my parking lots with zero problems, but looking for a nicer car.

Deoending in what version yes, if you run the Team Kit you will have no problems.

why will the team version give me problems? Are you saying the rtr wouldn't? If so, what's the difference? Don't they both have the same adjustments?

either car you can make the ride height high for parking lot bashing....

Deffinatley.
I have never seen a car that would not clear a parking lot. if it didn't I don't see why it would on a track! I would be verry amaized to see any RC car that would not clear a parking lot. I don't have to think about that with my twin detonator as the only thing it dosen't clear are Big Boulders!

I can't imagine either giving you problems. Either would be fine, although if you plan to play strictly in the parking lots (no carpet racing) go with either the Team or RTR as they are composite chassis' and more than likely a little less stiff than the new Factory Team. Just be careful with little pebbles getting caught in the spur gear :p

Thanks guys. If I set my ride height kinda high by adjusting the preload collars down on the threaded shock bodies, will that alter any other adjustments like camber or toe? In other words when I adjust the shocks for a higher ride, will I have to adjust anything else to compensate?

I have the RTR version of the car and run it on parking lots all the time. There is no need to adjust ride height. The factory set up (which is the same as the suggested set up for the kit) has enough ground clearance to drive on any good paved area. By the way, I really enjoy the car.
I have found that the suspension does need some adjustment for low traction surfaces overall and I'm still working on adjustments. In general, it seems to turn in slowly when going at a decent clip. Also, the tail tends to spin out if you go into a turn too fast or let off the throttle even a little in the turn.
As mentioned above, pebbles can get into the spur gear as it spins through a cut out in the chasis. I've already replaced a spur and a pinion. It only takes about 30 seconds of running with a pebble in the gears to tear them up pretty badly and if the car is 30 yards away from you when it picks up the pebble, you may not hear the grinding fast enough to stop the car before the damage is done.
Note, that belt drive cars may not be any better in this respect. While most don't have exposed spur gears, my son's HPI Sprint picked up a stone that got lodged in the car just right to tear up the rear drive belt. Within a minute, the belt was worn down to the cords. Also, it seems belts are harder to get than replacement gears.
Probably the best thing to do is bring a utility broom with you and sweep the parking lot area where you will run your car. Another possibility is to run on tennis courts. I have found these to have nice smooth surfaces and far fewer stones. The only down side is that after I run my car, the inside is covered with yellow tennis ball fuzz, but it blow off fairly easily.
Good luck.

well, you will probably need to reverse the droop screws, so that the dont touch the chassis. then, you can set your ride height from there

i wouldnt worry to much about the pebbles. there wont be enough to really cause a problem. ive had some in my car near the gears nothing happened.
