This may sound funny but how do you use it? Does this guage tells you how many degeree of toe in you are running or does it just tells you if you have toe in or toe out.

ttt
It tells you degrees. Not the most high tech way, or most precise, but it gets the job done.

I have one too and lost the instructions. It's a complete mystery to me how to use it.

You guys scare me !
Hehehe, it is more of a GP tool and "general idea" thing than a calibrated measuring device.
Basically you place it behind the front wheels, accounting for castor, and then place it in front of the wheels (be sure to be 180 degrees on the other side) and see how much toe in (or out) you have.
Don't try to get all scientific with it, because you quite simply cant. Wheel deformation, bearing slop, and other variables conspire against you. You can only get a general idea.
In most cases you want just barely toed in or barely toed out (if toe is desired at all) anyway.
Good luck !

Ok i have the wheel on the riser then where do the things point inside the tire or out side same goes for both ends. Also can you also use it with the rear? I need pics pics and pics the thing just doesn't make no sense.

A while back I got the Toe guage.
It's simple to use but you have to make sure the car tracks 100% straight before you add or remove some toe.
I emailed RPM with this message:
I have a question about the toe in gauge. I don't think I totally understand the concept of it. It seems great for checking the toe-in on the front left wheel as demonstrated in the instruction sheet, but how do you check the right one? If the right wheel is 3 degrees out, then the left one is going to say that the left one is at 0 deg. and vice-versa. Yes, it seems like I'd be able to set any degree of toe-in based on the degree of it on the other wheel, but how would I be able to check to see that the wheels are square to start with? I have the steering trimed to 0 (center) on the controller, and the servo, so now I would like to start with wheels that are square to themselves.
RPM's RESPONSE
BlackWolf,
Please don't feel stupid about your question. Our Toe-Gauge has to be one of the most misunderstood tools ever created! That's one of the reasons we have a FAQ page on it. The way it works isn't based on anything other than the two wheels. It is a comparison of distances between the back of both wheels and the front of both wheels, the difference provides you with the angle between them. Just because the angle indicator is on the left side doesn't mean you checked only the left wheel, you had actually checked the angle between BOTH wheels. The angle is total toe, NOT toe per wheel. If your turnbuckles are relatively the same length, and the steering is trimmed to zero, once the gauge tells you that the toe is at where you want it, all you have to do is adjust the steering trim to get the vehicle to go straight! The toe will be properly aligned. Now, in your example, you stated that if the one wheel was out 3 degrees and the other was at zero, you had asked what would happen. Because the gauge uses both wheels to check toe, it would read 3 degrees, not zero. Just adjust your turnbuckles until the gauge would read whatever toe-in you want (say 1 degree) and then adjust your steering trim to finish the job.
I hope this didn't confuse you worse. If it did, give me a call at 909.393.0366 Mon. - Thurs. from 7:00a - 5:30p Pacific time and I'll try and do a better job of clearing this up. My name is Atticus.
Thank you for your interest and patronage of RPM products. If you have any other questions or comments, please feel free to send us another e-mail.
Hope that helps a little bit...

It's the exact same thing word for word when I compaired it to the destructions that came with the guage.
