i like to purchase a rtr electric boat but i don't know which to pick between the traxas vilain iv ex or the kyosho twin storm 800 which would be better for upgrading,

Well, the Twin Storm is bigger, & wider, (probably heavier), and only has one drive in the water (more efficient). The Villain EX has better stock motors, and is probably more nimble. Hope this helps.
