When I use the airbrush with the metal paint cup supplied (1/4oz), it works fine. When I use it with one of the 1/2oz glass containers (with the little plastic line running through it), the painting is erratic.

It occurs with two seperate glass containers, so it's not like one is defective, I think.

Am I doing anything wrong?

Thanks.

I've had similar problems with the Badger 155. There's a couple of things you can do to reduce this happening again. Here's what I did.

First (and foremost) thoroughly clean your brush. Then, clean it again. Make sure that everything is clear enough for air passage to create a vacuum strong enough to pull the paint out of the glass. This is a must, it reduces the probability of the brush being the problem area.

Next, look at the straw on the lid adapter. Make sure when you screw it down onto an empty jar, the bottom portion of the straw isn't stuck fast to the bottom. There should be a slight bevel to allow paint to flow into the straw.

Sticking with the lid adapter, make sure the breather hole isn't clogged or plugged. This is the small hole in the top of the lid, usually next to the connector. This allows the pressure in the jar to equalize and let paint flow through the straw.

Third, make sure you're thinning the paint enough. If I had to paint with the half ounce jars, I had to thin just a bit more than normal for a good flow.

If it's still not working, now's the time for the frustrating search for air leaks in your brush. With air flowing through the brush as if you're spraying, dribble some soapy water on the brush and see where the leaks are coming from. You can use teflon tape to seal up the leaks.

In most cases, the inability to siphon paint is from either paint clogging the air flow (either in the brush or paint clump in the jar), not enough air flow, straw sucking against the bottom of the jar, or air leaks. Hope this helps you out. If you figure out the fix, please post back what you did to fix it so others experiencing your same dilemna can find a solution.

Thanks, that post was a great help! I'll look into everything you said today and report back.
Thanks again :)

I have the same brush and expierenced the very same problem. Clean clean clean is all you can do. Its a hassle and the airbrush's ability to siphon correctly changes from paint to paint depending on how thick it is. Some it would spray smooth, some not atall, and some would just spit. As stated above thinning is required. This ultimatly became too much of a hassle for me so I started using the cup exclusivly and Im alot happier with my paint results since I started using the metal cup instead of the bottles. The only problem with the cup is that you have to be careful how much you tip it or else yull spill it all over what your painting. My next brush will definatly be a gravity feed type. (WITH A CAP lol)

You may also need to crank up the PSI a little more then normal when using the jars.
