What was your worst crash? I had a bad crash last week. I was racing may oval car and was on the outside of a car he bumped me into the pit area and hit one of the legs of the drivers stand! I did even have time to slow down. I didn't break a thing!

I was taking some practic laps with my 4-tec and a TMaxx was out on the track to. I spun out and the Tmaxx was right behind me and it hit me.. Ddnt break anything though. Just flipped me over and put a few scratches on the body.

this is probibly about a year to date. i was talking to one of my friends at school and got him interested in r/cs so i told him to meet me at the church parking lot. show off time! there is a little hill (part of the parking lot) that comes off the alley and into the parking lot i took my nitro rustler wide open down the hill, and my batterys wernet that great and it was coming close to the parking curb things. i hit the break and turned left it did that but not fast enough cause the batterys were weak.

i smashed into the curb at about 20-25 mph. the right rear tire smached into it and the truck spun on that tire and did 3 360s. i thought it was ok went to throttle and it wouldnt move. i got down there turned it off. and the wheel was cracked from the top to the middle (my racing tires) and all togther i broke $40 worth of parts. i even bent the idler gear (the thing that the spur goes on and turns the tranny) i bent that but we bent it back. it was bad. that was on a friday.

then we went to the track sunday and i won my very first race. big change in events huh? (and i didnt get it fixed till saturday night so i had no time to test run it eaither!) http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I had a run-away Max BX, my radio crystel fell out. I did about 30mph into my garage door. I did more damage to the garage. All that broke on the car was the bumper, which is stress-tech and was repaired for free!

I had a pan car loose radio contact & run accross a parking lot about 500' & hit concrete curb head on. Broke the chassis in half, reciever & speed control came off, body posts, etc. This was during practice for a race that day. I got to work & repaired everything (epoxied the chassis back w/splints). The car was a little heavy but it ran well in the race. That was a lesson in range checking your equipment once in a while.

I was running my T-maxx with out the body on it for the first run of the the day to set the high speed screw right and the antenna on the truck came loose and fell over got caught in the rear wheel and it was about 100ft away from me so it lost its connection and whet full speed at down a feild which is about 30mph. It finally was stoped by a tree. When I checked it out I bent the front bumpers which were aluminum and the front skid plate which is also aluminum. That was all except for a craked bulkhead but that was not a fun experinece. When you loose control like that your heart starts racing and you just start sprinting after it. Luckly the maxx is one tough truck!

The worst ive had was when my BRAND NEW 2nd time run Ofna was stuck at half throttle (cuz i forgot to tighten the setscrew on the carb) and headed strait for the Lake. I now know what you mean by you heart races...luckily it got stopped when it hit a curb and landed in the deep grass. I dont think i could run that fast again even if i tried

my worst crash was actually pretty funny. i was running me nitro 4tec around a big circle at the end of my dead end street. i was going around the circle at about 25-30 mph and then i slammed the throttle and the car went into a slide. it was 2wd then.i got it out of the slide and thats when it hit a trash can head on at about 25 mph. the trash can flew about 10 feet, scaring the heck out of a cat and the car flipped over about 6 times .now theres a big dent in my neighbors trash can. nothing broke. it was funny

ya your heart stops! you start running and just hop you get it back. damage is no problem just so you get it back. that happened to me at the track( a parking lot) it went out full throttle and was riding the curn all the way around the parking lot. then turned and slamed into another curb. thank fully nothing broke and i guess the batterys got a surge of juice and just set there. thank fully. it ***** tho

ohh about 3 weeks ago for the first time i erally got to go drive my car, and i was starting to get better. Then on the last race we started 2-3 cars piled up some one lost a front hub, and the wheel went flying not sure what else happend. I swerved to avoid it and i cliped the curb sending my car about 4 feet into the air doing a barrel roll, landed right side up drove the car back to me check it over, and only lost one body pin, earlier i nailed some one head on as the a guy spun braking into the turn. I didn't even seen him i just saw my car fly backwards...

Ohh yah and i did what nitro 4-tec did too.. except i was going down the opposite side of the cul de sac and i braked and teh car shot to the left and nailed my neighbors garbage can shooting it up about 4 and a half feet and about 6 feet awsay from the point of impact.

Mine was funny but I hated it. There were these old non-american speaking foreigners watching me drive my FT GT with my friend. I was doing full speed runs at a bike path when the air filter fell off and the throttle was stuck at full, not pretty. I lost control and almost hit the Polish grandparents who were laughing, when up a hill, FLEW over a curb-like 5 feet high because of the curb. The end of the street came up and my car hit a curb launched 6 feet into the air w/o me being able to count the amount of flips. It wound up landing ON ITS WHEELS (even worse) took off flew over another curb flipped landed on the street on its wheels missing a speeding truck by 3 inches (it went under the thing) slammed into another curb flipped about 8 times and landed upside-down. I didnt have the body on (awww man!) scratched up my engine and bending the heat sink, snapped my fuel tank in half, stripped a spur gear (wood chip got stuck in it), lost a LOT of screws and lost the air filter. God I hated that. But I started laughing at the grandparents for almost running them over (they found it amusing too). My friend who is on TRACK and FIELD said he had never seen anyone run so fast in is life.

well i had an experience i'll never forget. i was running my tmaxx for the third time and it started up fine i ran it down the street about 4 houses down and started to come back. well the thing did another turn by itself and just took off. i was running like someone was going to kill me and at the sametime i was praying that it would'nt get tboned by a real car coming down the street. the only thing that stopped it was a telephone pole but nothing was broke. everyone was laughing and one of my neighbors said they never thought i can run like that.

My brother was running his pan car in the local lot and got on the gas to quick. The rear end came around on him at about 40mph and slamed the right front end into the curb. He lost the ball for his sterring link and had to twist tie the car together, he soon retired the car and bought a RS4 sport.

I was practicing w/ my dirt oval car with a mod motor. Some guy turned on there radio in the pits and it happened to be the same channel is mine. Just imagine a car heading straight for a wall full speed!! Heres what I broke:

Front shock tower
Both front arms
1 camber rod
the cars main graphite chassis
a few screws

This may sound bad, but the guy paid for new parts. What was kind of cool was the hole in the outside plywood wall!! I only wish it had been videotaped!

Isn't it funny how when our cars stop transmision with our remotes it always full speed and we run after it and we end up rinning faster than we ever normlly could because our pride and joy is leaving us with out any hope of gaining control. ok i had just gotten my nitro pede and had done the break in exercise, well after that i put more gas in it and full throttled around. after getting up to about 33 i slammed in the disc brakes but i was too close to the curb so i turn to avoid it(big mistake) the car did maybe 3-4 or 5 cart wheels before it came to rest on its wheels, no damage done but i did that like 3-4 more times bofre i realized 33mph +disc barkes+turning in a direction=big mistake

I'm just getting started to the rc hobby so this crash was with a car that I bought from a flea market that is one of the kind that you can buy at a certin electric store. So what happened was I was doing big ovals with my off-road buggy and jumping my neighbors dirt pile with a big chunk dig out so it was a perfect jup, on this run though I hit a high spot in the jump so the car didn't clear the top, it got caught on the top summersalted forward then did another on the corner of the car, flew in the air(still doing summersalts) landed on it's back wheels did a wheelie for about 2 feet then I hit the reverse, it got on all fours and kept going(forgot to mention this was all in the full speed position), it was cool.

I could go about 75ft in any direction then i would get jittery. Well i was chasing there dogs around the place and it went 100ft away full speed turned left flew about 10ft in air went upside down in a shallow creek w/no body one. I never saw myself run so fast. Luckily nothin was broke. Still good to this day.

mine wasn't really a bad crash but here it is. i was at my track, around it there is a drop off, so i went to the other end and nailed the throttle, it went off it and did countless cart wheels flips and landed on its wheels, nothing broke, just shows you how hard traxxas cars are , oh yeah and it was a nitro sport.

Ok it wasn't me but a friend of mine was practicing before the mains with his xx4.
Well there was a kid on the track with a Traxxas rustler or something, anyway he was coming down the straight away at full speed and the other kid thought it would be funny to do the track backwards and he hit the xx4 head on!!!! The thing pretty much shattered!!! He had to take it home in a box.Hehe man was he ****** hehe
It was funny though

My worst crash was with my bran new ofna gt lx. It was my first time driving it after i got it broke in. I thought my batteries were still good but they were not. It was going stait away from me when it took off on a strait away. It went up a handycapt ramp fell back into the street. It was doing about 60 Mph when it hit the curb. It flew 18 feet in the air and about 40feet in distaince. it landed in a snow bank.

i crashed 3 times yesterday, took my car out of action. The real problem though wasn't crash related, it was a mechanical failure.

I had just gotten my new Monster Blazer broken in and I ran out of receiver batteries and ran into the barbeque grill at about 35 mph. I managed to snap one the shock shafts in half and bend one of the drive universals. Fortunately I have a spare parts car so all I had to buy was the $4 shock shaft. I've got throttle return springs on the way for all my cars now.

I was running my L30 on our veledrome track. I was going 65-70mph. when the car suddenly vered to the left and hit a big metal spectators stand inside the track. Every thing on the front of the car was broken(a-arms, tires, body, bumper, body mounts, and a few more things). I went to look at the car, and half of it was under the spectators stand. All the front was pushed back to the middle of the car. We had to get 5 guys to lift the stand to get my car out from under it.

I used to have a Parma '29 Ford that I modeled after an RCCA project car... It took me a month to get the detail into the Hemi and get the steering servo working correctly and get all the electronics for it. I spent 2 weeks alone just on detailing the Hemi.

I had a Novak Rooster, a GM2 and my trusty Magnum 2PD AM radio. For some reason I wasn't getting particularly good reception this one day that I rolled my crown jewel out and the car was glitching all over the place but not so bad that I thought I should call it a day. The battery finally ran down to about half power and as I was pulling the car up close to me to take it inside... it glitched... BAD. The car veered off to the right, nailed the throttle and proceded to drive up the banked curb on the other side of the street. Now my car was geared to go REALLY fast so when it went up the curb it was going full speed. It went up in the air, the main body pulled away from the chassis which continued to fly forward pitching the battery out this way which in turn yanked the ESC off. These two yanked out the RX and the whole thing cleared 8 or more feet(distance) in the air before crashing to the concrete and screeching to a halt on my neighbors lawn.

An entire month of work down the drain. The body was scratched up beyond belief the paint was flaking away from the inside, the open interior looked like the car exploded. It looked "OK", but nothing like it had. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/frown.gif

I also had an RS4 MT glitch with that radio which resulted in the car ramming full speed into a railroad tie, snapping the front of the chassis off. Needless to say I switched to FM after that.

When I first got my Max MT I used large church parking lot to break it in. This parking lot was huge and aside from my real car there was only one other car to avoid , way off in the corner. A red micra kinda backed in on an angle with the front wheels turned all the way, so they kinda stuck out. Anyway, I was going full speed into the cornernear the micra, the MT was pushing hard, I was a ways away and thought I could make it if I just stayed in the gas. I was wrong! My right rear tire clipped the micra's left front and my MT proceeded to do an Olymipics' worthy cartwheel. I bent the main hinge pin and kicked out the dogbone. It was back running in less that ten minutes. But then I tried to jump a paved wheelchair ramp from a really bad angle. when it landed it snapped the left front control arm and a ball coupler link.

After our snow melted I decided to take out the nitro for some more punishment. The roads were clear but the sand was still every where from the plow so traction was very poor with the supplied balloon tires from Duratrax. I wanted to do a speed run to show off for my buddies, but it was all I could do to keep it out of the ditch as it did road sweeping drifts to and fro. Finally I was able to gain traction, I was straddling the shoulder of the road and was just about out of throttle to squeeze, just haulin when my MT was brought to very sudden halt by buddies 6x6 post for his mailbox. OUCH!!! I thought for sure there would be major internal bleeding, but I hit it so dead square the only thing that was noticeably damaged was 5 degree bend in the chassis.

I would reccomend this truck to someone who wants to start out in nitro. It withstands tremendous abuse. I occasionaly still hit something too hard with a rear wheel and bend a hinge pin. The pins are very resiliant and bend back very easily.

I dont know if you can visualize this but ill try any way. i live in arizona where the rivers only have water in them about once year, and most in the city are concrete anyway( like in LA only smaller).

well me and my buddy like to run in these glorified rivers of concret and sand. after a hard rain there can be monster dunes of sand like 3-4 feet tall and are a blast to launch from. the last time we went there was only small dunes and my duratrax was bogging real bad, but his maxx was running great. i took a big piece of junk plywood and made a transition from the flat concret river bed to the steep angle of the side

we got to racing up the almost vertical wall. my buddy hit it real fast and went clean up the side and over, completly out of site and running wide open. he starts to try and run up the side and slips right away, as he is falling down i see his four week old t-maxx launch from the top of the wall out into the river. where the concret and the dirt meet at the top is uneven, so when the max hit it at full throttle i launched it up and sent it flipping wildly.

by our best guess the truck flew about 20 feet out into the river and the sides are about 15 feet high, so do the math.

when it landed, it hit upside down and slide about ten feet, also it landed on one of the only areas where there was absolutly no sand!

it was a sick sound when his $500 machine just thumped on that concret.

we are really proud or our trucks and to this day we wont tell me what he broke and how much it cost him. i know he did some real bad damage because he just picked up his truck and started walking to the ramp to get out of the river bed. never saying a word to me or even looking at me. i think he blames me.

my worst crash...well i took my 1/8 scale buggy out for a spin it has a picco engine in it and the last time i had it clocked it did well over 40, i went down to a club i typically hang out at and a few of my friends came out to check my car out...after running around the full parking lot i decided to take it out on the street, it was around 1 am in the college/bar section of town so the streets where fairly vacant as everyone was either in bed or at a bar just to have some fun i let my worlds 2 rip full throtle down the street, everything went fine and i turned to come back again since i was showing off i let it go full speed past me about 100-150 feet out i turned to come back unfortunately this was too far out, it turned 90 degrees and flew trait into a foot high concrete curb. i kinda played it off saying ehh no biggie its 1/8 scale its build of aluminum its fine. i strolled down the street and when i actually looked at the car the next day it turned out it did actually do some damage.
turns out i had to get a:
1 new chasis
1 new front shock stay
new front suspension assembly
1 front diff
1 front bumper
2 front tires
1 radio tray
1 air filter
1 body
luckily i had a spare kit setting in my room so i simply built a new car...unfortunately i was out around 200 bucks.
i still have a lot of the pieces as a reminder of why you dont show off a thousand dollar "toy" if anyones interested in seeing pics http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/frown.gif

Ahhh, no one beats MY crash!! I was running m friend's HPI Proceed 1/8th (thats one FAST machine!) when i hit a sewer head at 65+ mph. The thing somersaulted and landed on the front bumper. The shocks bottomed out and it flipped again. It slid on its top for about 50 feet, when the fuel tank ripped open, spilling fuel all over the place. His custom-made shock towers were unanodized, so they WILL spark, and thats just what they did. A bunch of sparks hit the fuel and the tank exploded under the car, sending it only an inch or two into the air, flipping it backwards and landing perfectly upright. The hardest part to believe is the fact that all i needed to buy for it was new wheels, tires (they burned!), a new pipe, and a new fuel tank!

My worst crash happened today. I was using those ramps ou drive your car on to change the oil for jumping ramps in the street. My T-maxx was just skying ove these things! Then I went at it WOT and missed the ramp, hopped the curb and smacked right into the light post in my front yard. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/frown.gif Busted up several parts up front, 1 A-arm, popped a shock cap, busted some wierd part up front that everything mounts too... Bummer. Heres a link to my site that has a crash by DJN from the HPI board, find out what happens when you hit a curb doing 50+ miles per hour! http://coloradorc.50megs.com/Racers/DJN/djn.html

Just today I had a pretty ugly crash. I was racing my second qualifier when the car stopped. I knew the pack had came uplugged so I had the turn marshal bring it off the track so I could fix the problem. Then I put back on the outside edge of the track and ran back to the driver's stand to resume racing. I got up and turned around only to see the fastest car there run into my car at about 35 mph. My car fly about 25 feet through the air and landed on the outside of the track rolling into a pit table. Luckily I was driving my 4TEC and nothing broke, or at least nothing that I have noticed yet. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

My crash(well my friends who was driving my car) was with my ofna gt lx...My friend who has the ability to break just about anything he touches...lol So he was driving my car down the street about 3/4 full speed and turned into my driveway put the brakes on waaaaaayyy tooooo late and went flying off a snowbank that was about a foot high at around
45mph and went about 15feet and landed and broke the whole wing and the wing holder, but it doesn't end there....Then after the nice hard landing the battery for the receiver comes lose it goes full throttle into a parked car....ooo not a pretty site http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/frown.gif He broke my whole diff case, and everything on the right front side except for the shock and universal joint. But before i let him drive it i said "you break it you buy it", so he payed for all of the repairs http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif...Hes never driving my car again lol

I just sold my Kyosho F-10 to my friend and he never had a gas r/c before and I installed a torq .12 in it and it had a 2 speed.Well it was going way faster than with the supplied .10 and man was it!Well he was driving it and and trying to get the hang of things and as soon as he said this isnt $#!+ I can drive this thing!WHAM right into a concrete reenforced steel pole!!It had a F1 body on it and it was the closest thing to seeing the real thing. It spun parts went EVERYWHERE it was in the air it bounced I think the lil dude that was molded into the body had to wipe himself and I had to stop myself from soiling myself I was laughing so hard.It bent the chassis IN HALF!Bent both shafts shattered the rear end blew up the diff gas tank big ol' dents in the batteries. This was the funniest wreck I have ever seen..I got another one I think my buddy might get mad at me for saying Ill post it later youll love it!!I know I did.

Alright how's this:
I was jumpin my Stampede and I had a ramp about 6 feet high, with a 45 degree slope.
I got it up to about 35 or 40 hit it and it hit so hard on the ramp, it knocked my motor wire off, so I didn't have throttle control. The truck did a 40-feet nose dive on the right side.It done about 7 or 8 barrel rolls and I only broke a suspension arm and bent a turnbuckle. How's that for luck.

I brought my rc10gt to get it worked on at the lhs. The guy made some adjustments and we went out to try it out in the the parking lot of the store. I don't know why but the car stopped responding. The guy starting saying turn it sharp to go in a circle. No response... it started heading toward some parked cars and I'm freaking..it goes underneath 3 parked cars and misses them all!!! veers toward the building and smashes into the brick of the building. The engine was still running and started winding out and then froze up. I have not let that guy work on my cars since. Needed new piston and sleeve, new front servo saver.

Ok, heres mine. It was after I had my RC10GT for about a year. I was driving up and down my street doing full throttle runs. After a flat out run heading away from me, I turn the truck with a quick 180 to start heading back. I see something dangling from the back, its the battery pack for the reciever. It wasnt attached well, and the 180 turn jarred it loose. Before I even realize whats going on, the pack disconnects and my car at about 50 feet in front of me takes off full throttle. I wasnt even really thinking at this point, I was running on pure adrenaline. I sprint out to the middle of the road, and prepare to meet with a 35 mph+ RC car. See, the thing is, i live on the corner off of a busy street, and its evening traffic. If that truck gets past me, its all over. So its a showdown, I time it right, and BAM, I give it a good kick. This puts it into a spin, but its still going, and Im <20ft from the major road. I get in front of it, the dam* thing fakes me out and goes between my legs, I do a turn around and manage to catch it with my foot. The truck then gets redirected and goes straight into the curb head on(better than the busy road). The wheels were hanging loose, and the extremely hard to bend front nose was completely bent. But thanks to the great design of the truck http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif, only $35 worth of parts and its fixed! A few of my friends were there, one on the football team, and he said "DAM* Mike! You should be an inside LB with moves like that! Im not even that athletic, but its funny what a situation like that will do to you when something so dear to you is on the line.

Well this story has a happy ending well i was racing my truck around my front yard doing full speed then i go to get into a turn and apply the brakes no response and the truck just took off with a stop sing pole and a 4 runner in its path! i was running soooo fast i could not believe it but here is the cool part well it tuned out i had my engine a little too lean and it reved soo high that it stalled but all it did was coasted into the poll at about 5mph man i was lucky it was touched by an angel . but after a good inspection of the car it turned out that my transmitter batteries were dead and that caused the car to go wild man i need to get a radio that beeps. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/tongue.gif

Althought I had breakdowns, not crashes I thought it'll be worthy to mention the weird times I had. Its funny how I still remember my old times even when they are more than five years old in my memory and thats I'm 17 now.

First one was a cheap red buggy that at least had a good stock and solid motor & battery. It was a lot of fun until the disbelief that after having whacked it head-on with my sister's 4x4 Nikko monster truck (these trucks were the slow-crawing one using large cells for 6V, remember?) and it then only could turn right but got no response to turn left so if I wanted a left turn I had to loop that in a right turn!

Finally gave up playing with it when I finally got my own 4x4 similar to my sister's but in blue color from her yellow. Both were slow and the high gear seem to be whiny slow to start but then in low gear these trucks coudl mash anywhere evn in grass with a funny roaring noise from the motor.

I then started play with a "Rude Dude" black Nikko truck (rear-drive hingled motor plate).

That truck was so rude (hey, same as its name?) as it never understand goign straight but scream its tire a lot its luck the tires were plastic-spiked for traction. It spins out a lot on the gravel driveay and on the stab-laid path it was sometimes too fast to keep it from crashing into the grass.
Still I had lot of fun with it but it poped its plastic vent cover for motor so held down with elastic band before also weird steering servo act up (It seem to delay before steering when in reverse?!). The brown wire (it was brown/grey color) to motor broke off unexcepted and bought truck to workshop halt to soldier it back on twice.

Black truck now is in workshop like the blue monster truck. I got a kit "mad bull" car but its very poor and it spins too quickly its not much fun in the gravel driveway.

My sister's 4x4 now is in hole-up not being used because even when oiled and checked it make a weird grinding noise from the gears and when you try to press it uphill or onto non-smooth surface it stalls in all the grinding.

Well THREE monster truck from Nikko and all broken down. But at least I still love Nikko and am looking for a next Nikko monster truck since they are so cheap to banish on gravel driveways! (lol, pls don't ask me why)

I've been working on both black and blue trucks a little lately and am now making a wired version of the blue truck with a wooden flatbed trailer (slow speed so its ok to be wired for cheaper than a 2-channel radio system). The black truck is being modified together with the motor plate and body removed then mounted onto lego chassic with also lego rack-and-pinion steering system. It looks like a dragster with the large spiked motor tires on rear and the thin lego tires up front but gota change the lego tires to more relastic one anyway.

Who said you only can have fun with kit or stock vehicles? Nikko is so CHEAP than these and can take bad abuses (don't tell anyone but these trucks can abuse anywhere even that sand got in my blue truck and still ran since the sand were only contaiming the tire-axle shaft so far but then grinding noise and that steerign was poor response got me to finally give it up in the workshop for oiling-out....can you do that with a kit car? NO because its expensive and the motor sits so vulernable to the road surface with no plate cover)

Yuri........

p.s="Monster patrol" for my next truck at just $50.00 minus tax and its huge size? We'll see what I pick for my next Nikko truck anyway.
