This weekend I think I’ll try my hand at racing my Losi XXX-NT in the armature class. I’ve only had the truck for a few weeks but have been practicing about everyday. I watched part of last weeks race at the track, and since I don't want to look like a total newbie this weekend, I have a few questions.

- How does the transponder mount on the truck and where?
- If the truck breaks or engine dies during the race do I get an opportunity to fix or restart it and re-enter the race?
- How many heats are there per class?

That’s about all I can think of right now. Any tips would also be appreciated.

Thanks,

Zed

A transponder on a gas truck always goes on the hood of the body either on the left or right of the shock dent. They will probably have a drill or reamer you can use to cut a circle hole in it. It either mounts with a body pin holding it in, or screw on and you dont need a body pin, ive used both.

You'll have to check with your track before the race to see if you can fix it. I've been to both where you can fix it (the marshal has to give you the car, you cant go get it yourself), or you stay on the drivers stand and the marshal puts it to the side of the track until the end of the heat.

I really dont know how many heats there are per class. It depends on the amount of people, how much time etc. Ive been to where its 1. Qualifying 2. race/qualify for mains 3. mains. Ive also been to a track that does: 1.Qualifying. 2.Race 3.Race 4.10 minute mains where you have to refuel half way through.

Any more questions? Im glad to help.

You must always push the limits. Because if you never fail, you will never succeed.

Crashing is an art of driving that goes bad in result in human or mechanical error.

HAVE FUN!!!!! thats realy my only suggestion, and dont worry about being the new guy cause we were all there once before and I for one like helping new guys get set up cause it just means more competition on the track every week.Good luck and keep us posted on how you did.

Thats the thing with you nitro guys... By the end of the most of the cars/trucks are not running. Us electric racers dont have that to look forward to. (not that thats a good thing. just as long as your car/truck is still going.)

------------------
win:1.To achive victory or finish first in a competetion. 2.To achive sucsess in an effort.
Lose:1.To be unable to find. 2. To be deprived of. 3. To be unable to maintain or keep. 4. To fail to win; be defeated. 5. To fail to take advantage of. 6. To let (oneself) become engrossed. 7. To rid oneself. 8 To cause loss of. 9. To suffer loss.

What do you do?

Well I didn’t end up doing to bad. There where 3-5 minute qualifying runs and I made it into the A-Main in the 6th position. I was a little concerned in the A-Main because it was 8 minutes. I didn’t know if I could make it on a tank of fuel and I didn’t have anyone to pit for me. So I stayed out of everyone way and ran my race, and I ended up taking 3rd place. Of course I should mention that there where only 3 trucks left on the track. But I guess that’s racing.

Can’t wait until next weekend.
