Now if your talking about the real F150 Lightning GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!! Heck the Lightning is on of the best high performance pickups on this earth. If is an old Lightning forget it but if its the 99 or 00 do it. Hot Rod magazine did a comparison of it and a Vette of the same year. Let me say that the Lightning was very close to opening a big can of WA on the vette. I have had the chance to see one and they are awesome. Chevy has there outdated 454 SS 1500 but the new F150 is worth it.

FYI off the subject of this kids question but...
To get the needed horse to push that POS lightning, Ford had to bore the engine to (OUCH!) 350 cubic inches. Looks like they just copied the Chevy engine and put a supercharger on it.
Superchargers are for bad motor builders. The Vette, and the 454 SS are fuel injected, and didn't need superchargers for the power.
But anyway, I'd say get that Electric Lightning. I'm not a Ford fan (little tires killing customers and lying about it problem) but it is a sharp truck in the looks dept.

Maybe I mis-read the original post. Are you asking if you sould buy a (real) F-150 lighting or a Nitro truck???

i like gas cars and all but i say you go for the F-150, i have 1 and it is a blur with the stock engine. the only reason i say you should get the F150 than a nitro is that the nitro's dont start too well when it is cold.

For your info, the engine is a 5.4L which is around 326 c.i. They're too smart to copy a Chevy engine. The fuel injected 454 (30% bigger than the 351 c.i. older Lightning)can't even beat the older Lightning. R.W. Originally posted by hpiguy:

I don't think he wants a real truck because by some off the things like nitro KID as name if you didn't notice the KID part and ne is compareing it to a nitro truck which is only remote or some hotrod real truck. I think he means rc by that and he is talking about an elec. vs a nitro. I don't thing he is in to spending $40,000. Anyway go nitro go with the stampede it is about $350.00

Mr. Rick:
I was trying to point out a FACT and also make a joke and have a good time, BUT OBVIOUSLY YOU FORD BOYS CAN'T TAKE FACTS OR JOKES.
According to FORD (yes, their press release) and HOT ROD and CAR&DRIVER, that 5.4 has been bored to 5.7 liters for the Lightning, and Lightning trucks only.
It still has the 5.4 badging though, as making all new plastic badging and changing all the press literature is just not cost effective.
But then again Motorcycles, Cars, Boats, abnd Snowmobiles also say stuff like 900RR, 5.0 liter, 6.6 liter, when in actuality it isn't the EXACT displacement.
And like I said. SUPERCHARGERS ARE FOR BAD MOTOR BUILDERS.
Put a Paxton or Whipple on the 454SS or the C5 Vettes and watch them eat your little Lightning for lunch.
FORD = Forgive Our Retarded Dads
Backwards= Driver Returns On Foot
SO TAKE THE JOKE AND TAKE IT EASY OK?!?!

well since i'm the only mopar fan in here that has come to debate-what about the almighty elephant, 426 Hemi that mudered everyone in the 70's? no one could touch that motor except the LS-6 454 that's overrated on the track cause i can roast it on the street. i'm also a chevy fan but mopar first and i'll never buy a ford.

i'm not dogging chevy i just hate fords as well cause most of them are built cheap or just plain backwards. i also did'nt say no one was a mopar fan but i meant since i was the only one to bring it up and you know how it is. they only show chevy and ford and no mopar in magazines. sometimes they even dog mopar but i know who the big dog is in the yard.

Well first off Mr.hpiguy, the engine IS 5.4 liters, not a 350cid. I know, because a friend of mine is the service manager and part owner of a large Ford dealership and has had a few of them on the lot. The supercharger is a GOOD thing, anything that adds power is good. Be it NOS or a blower or cubic inches. Its all good. I drag race every weekend, in a real CAR, while you play with toys. LITTLE TOYS! Where did you hear that or see that Ford bored out the 5.4? SVT never ever touched an engine block! They strenghted the block, but never bored it out. Sorry I had to get rude but you should never post a topic with out knowing the whole story.

Well according to SMITH BROS FORD, ROSEMURGY FORD, AND SCAFFIDI TRUCK CENTER they say YOU are wrong.
As far as what I drive when I'm not R/Cing...well I won't even go there. Besdies it's in apost around here somewhere.
All I will say is (timeslips to prove) 9.8 sec 1/4s and oh yeah....ANY BLUE OVAL YOU CAN GET(not your daddies or friends anything you own tough guy, I got the pink for my ride, do you?) ANY-TIME BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So drop it and go away. You sit here and rag on R/C's, calling them TOYS then go away, we don't need you.

BTW I love how all these poeple have the world's most powerful "friends, uncles, dads, moms, etc."
Too bad they can't prove it, or even if they do drop names you call these places and they either don't exist or NEVER heard of the "This guy is my best bud" liars on here.
I don't care anymore. I"m willing to believe a NON BIASED group like Hot Rod, or Car and Driver long before you, so the chance you have of getting me to listen to you is NILL.

You need to get a life, like fast! Who do you think you are talking too? Some young punk! I like Ford, Chevy, Dodge, anything FAST! What kind of "ride" do you have that goes 9's? What is that SCALE SPEED 1/4 mile runs!!! If you went 9s in a real car you would pi$$ yourself! The people I know are real.
The cars I own and drag are my daily driver a '96 Cougar-14.30s. '90 Gt Stang 13.20s. '69 Chevelle,10.80s. One more thing, if you are not a Ford guy, then why are so concerned about a FORD truck? I love how you want to drag for pinks, REAL MATURE. That stuff happens in the movies, not in real life. Also it just proves you don't have a fast ride, anyone who puts countless hours and dollars in a car would never risk losing it to someone in a drag race. So drop the whole "I'm better than you bit", and GROW UP!

I can't believe anyone would diss the ford Lighting.
For your information the motor is toned down to 360 HP w/ 6 lbs of boost to promote engine life. Add a new chip and you're pushin 460 HP. I'd like to see ANY 454 (over 1 liter of displacement) SS keep up with that and if the Lightning could hook like the C5 it'd eat its lunch too. I'm a chevy fan btw..but I give credit where credit is due
If superchargers are for people who can't build engines explain the Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. OOOOOHHHH! A GM Product w/ a Supercharger...case closed...shut your cake hole

We're never gonna agree on any of this.
I'm willing to drop it if you guys are.
Actually I'll just drop it, and hope you follow suit.
Agree to disagree, or not, whatever.
We'll never convince each other of anything that the otehr doesn't want to believe, so there's no point anymore. Right? Right.
