Dont you HATE when that happens? Yeah you can get them at your local hobby shop and make sure you bring the part number (its in the manual, you still have that, dont you...?). Also, I would check your diff, I did that and wound up melting the 1/16 diff balls into the diff gear, and I have to rebuild my whole diff. Well, I had everything but the diff gear, but of I were you, I would check that and say that it has a "New Diff!!!"

If it ain't fast, don't race IT!!!!!!!!
Just because your diff is new, doesnt mean it'll hold up to the pressure and heat that losing a CVD pin brings. It doesnt matter if its never run or like 2 years of running on a diff, if it melts, it melts. Its probably what I discribed in the previous post.

i dont understand what yur sayin jp. was i supposed to put loctite on that part? cuz i never did.
the pin that is gone, is the thing that holds the shaft, (dogbone, drive shaft whatever) to the part that the wheel nut goes on to hold the wheel on.
how would that heat up the diff?
I'd use loctite on the little screw that holds the pin in. Ask Steve to explain it to you, this same problem happened to me and im still awaiting for the part to fix my diff. All the power of the motor is going to the diff, and the diff wants to put the power to the wheel thats not getting any traction which was the wheel that lost the CVD pin. The diff heats up a LOT because it wont really work right because of the lost CVD pin. All im saying is take apart the diff and look at eveything in it. It should all look like new, the balls shouldnt be melted into the diff gear, the washers should be new and the thrust balls should be round. Check it all and see if its ok and not melted.

my diff is a gear diff from traxxas in an electric rustler.
and there is not screw that holds this pin in.

this is the picture of the cvds. the part that fell out is what holds the black part (on the one in the middle) to the shiny drive shaft. there arent any screws or anything.

its just a gear diff from traxxas. plastic outside gear, and metal inner gears.
i dont remember a screw.

If you were to take apart the CVD's youll find that the axle part has 2 rings and theres a thing in it. There is 2 holes, on threaded and one non threaded which will be hard to see if there is any grease there. A (I think) "4-40" screw goes in there. But I am positive there is a screw there. If there a real MIP CVD's on there, there is a screw that holds the pin in. The reason you probably lost the pin is because the screw came loose or out. But im saying, if I were you check the diff, new or old, to make sure its ok. Is that diff ball or friction? I need help explaining this better from the rest of you people.
