Types of plastic used?

What are some of the types of plastic used in RC kits?

I have heard of delrin, ABS and others.

What are the advantages of like delrin?

I think the best success has been with Nylon (the Associated RC-10 was one of the original users of this) and glass-field nylon (originally used by Schumacher in the original Schumacher CAT).

There have been many blends of plastic and composites and delrin has been very successful for things like gears as it's well suited for Teflon impregnation. The latest thing appears to be the injection molding of composite plastic and graphite.
