I agree but there is an exception..if you don't have the money to buy a whole new setup you can go on eBay and buy someone elses for cheap. Also, I know some people have said that their local hobby shop is a pain in the rear. But for the most part, if you can support your LHS, then do so.

yea hes got a point, but hwen you got to 4 hobby shops and not ONE has what your looking for, and has no idea what there talking about, you will order off the internet.do you know how many times ive gone to my LHS and theyve tried to sell me things that wont work on my car? i have one good hobby sohp 45 min away. all the otehr ones i know of are crap.

NOT being a hs owner, i will say this: most people are all about instant gratification.in the r/c world, i think that goes double. Some things people need to keep in mind, when ( insert on-line huge hobby warehouse here__________) buys a T-maxx, they buy 2500 from traxxas, not 4..who do you think gets volume pricing? same as a convenience store, tey dont buy 1800 cases of soup, they get 10 cans, so they dont get the deal the big guys get, so in most cases, their cost is about what the big store selling price is.....HOWEVER,.....my lhs is 15 minutes away, in traffic. i want my car fixed NOW, i drive over there, and get parts. i get into the usual 20 minute b.s. session with the guys, and leave there feeling good, made a new friend, and someone who will be more than happy to help me with any problems. all in all, after shipping, losing out on makinga few friends, and having my car fixed RIGHT NOW, i will gladly support the hobby shop.....my dime's worth.

no, no,..was not directed at you at all. just saying i am all about local support.i come from a very small town, and you had to keep the local bus. owners going, because the service after the sale is what it was all about. by no means was that directed at anyone, just some people may have read that as if I WAS the HS owner, and i wanted to clarify that i wasnt, dont get me wrong, with things costing as muc as they do now, if i can save a few hindred bucks, oh yeah, but if we are talking overall, a savings of $20.......not worth my time to wait .....i will go to the lhs, drop the extra money, and chat with my new friends, who, someday , could give me a great deal on something, that normally, i would be passed up for. its all about what you get out of what you put in..............speaking for myself, if i can get a brand new e-maxx on line for $150 close out sale,.......yup, wont think twice.... but we all know that wont happen. i just enjoy going to the hs, to talk with the guys, get some good advise, maybe the inside scoop on something, even drove some new cars.......FUN STUFF! cant do that over the web.......but take no offense plz. wasnt directed toward you, was merely, in a weird way, agreeing with you
