I got my TC4 yesterday and I have some problems. Yesterday the car was fine when I was driving it around. Today I made some Offroad wheels and tires seen here: http://flickr.com/photos/58073432@N00/sets/738174/ When I was driving it around a hood pin came off the body mount and one came off the battery brace and the foam battery spacer flew out and the pack flew out and then I went and put it all together. Just now it flipped and the body mount came off and I lost the screw. So in all I lost 2 pins and a screw which isn't bad. But I was just checking it and the ESC and Motor were really hot (Novak 5800 Super Sport) and the batteries were steaming. They are kinda old Duratrax Sanyo 1700 packs from a couple years ago (2001 and 2002) and on the bottom the plastic was melted and the one was scraped up from when it fell out. I just would like to know if this is normal. I found out one thing today..don't try to make your TC4 an offroader with just some ghetto wheels. Thanks in advance for any help.

Did you re-gear your car to compensate for the bigger tires you put on? That could be your problem for it overheating.

You didn't gear it correctly. Changing the tires on your car changes the rollout, and a smaller pinion is needed. Without changing the pinion, you are severely overgearing your car.

Oh thanks for the advice. What pinion would you recommend? I have a 24 now with 72 spur. I probably won't end up doing it in the future but just in case.

lol, funny story :) i would maybe try a 15 or 16 pinion.. but as you said, its probably not a good idea to offroad with a TC..
