and what about truck bodies? do they still have downforce to grip the road?

and could u paint an on-road car from the outside cuzz you prolly wont be flippin it off of ramps and what not? b/c it seems like it would be athousand times easier and it would look cooler

Those bodies are fine if that is the look you are going for. If you plan on racing, those bodies arn't legal. Also, that is a 200mm body meant for a gas car. Electric cars take 190mm bodies. For paint, you are still going to want to paint the inside as you will still occasionally flip over or scrape something while bashing.

I think Protoform still makes a body in that style. Check the manufacturers listing on Tower Hobbies, Associated also had a body in that style. MaCallister racing also is molding bodies in a variety of styles for Nacar, TC, Dirt Oval etc that may be what you are looking for.

if u paint a body from the outside, it will be dull, most likely chip/flake off. When you paint from the inside, the outside will look shiny.

Yeah, you cant paint the inside no problem, as all bodies come with an overspray film, which will protect the outside of the body from paint accidentaly reaching it. Usually all bodies have the same procedure prior to painting.

You dont have to sand it, but what you DO have to do is wash out the inside nicely with warm water and a bit of soap or diswhasher liquid mixed in. This is to make sure that the paint properly adheres to the lexan.

After that you should be good to go.

Good luck

I run a 200mm body on my 190mm chassis with no ill effect. 5mm wider on each side isn't that noticeable.

Also, make sure you use paint meant for lexan. Normal spray paint will crack and come off the body after running it.

Paint made for lexan bodies are Pactra (RC enamels) and Parma.
Prepping wash body as suggested above or use Denatured Alcohol to remove the mold release. Before painting or masking fit body to chassis to align wheelcuts and determine the area to drill for body post holds. Drill out the body post holes the test fit again to see where additional lines or holes may be needed before finally painting.
Before the bodies started being covered with protective film a mixture of 3 parts rubbing alcohol to one part fingernail polish remover was used to remove overspray and scuff mark from body. Use a good quaility fingernail polish remover that has at least 15% actone.
