yada yada yada...i hope you guys get the point. it's my newest boat!!!! just wondering what's the best prop to try first. i think i have most of 'em between 27 and 35 mm. hopefully i'll get some test runs in the next couple of days after work.

Try starting with an X430

tried the 430 today, not bad. didn't get a whole lot of time before it started raining. but...it was a good maiden voyage. i've got to fiddle with the trim a bit too. i guess i'll know more after the weekend.

Sounds good, if you watch your heat carefully, every coupla minutes, try the a 432, then a 435 (the latter is the prop I use with a Force 22, & ROAR stock motor for N1 mono),,, It may run too hot for a 19t Chameleon.

i got a few more runs today, i like the 430 for now. the transom is lifting in the turns, but i think the swept rudder is causing that. so tomorrow i'll be trying a straight rudder. my drive wire broke too, but i should have known better and used a .150 cable to start with...so i'll be changing that in the morning, it seems that it was too short and the bend over stressed it. also had to make a change to the water cooling. other than that it seems like it's going to be a nice ride...as long as the rudder is whats causing my lift problems. it will turn all the way up onto the free board with anything more than just a little input.

The 0.150" flex cable is mucho overkill for a 6-cell boat. Less friction through tight bends with a 1/8" or 0.130" cable. Wire is, IMO, better than flex in most applications, but it does not like tight turns, so in your case the flex is a good choice. Prop angle can cause transom lifting, expecially on the OM - it should be parallel with the keel or up a bit at the back, depending on the CG. A swept rudder won't usually cause this, but a smaller one may help as long as you can turn. If you can do it, angle the bottom of the rudder's pivot slightly towards the transom - this will plant the transom in turns.
Note that this hull was designed specifically for NAMBA oval racing with 60-foot diameter turns; trying to turn it a lot tighter can result in some "odd" handling traits.

swapping out the rudder helped...but didn't completely solve the problem. a lot of it is prop related, as i found out by playing with different props. my modified 535 reduced the roll but it runs a bit hotter, although it's nothing to worry about. tomorrow i'm hoping to go out to a nearby club to get some advice. one and a half hour drive (and it's the closest). once i get it trimmed it looks like it will be a lot of fun. one of these days i'll try to get a picture up.
