Hi all, can someone please help ?
I have placed a brushless motor in my boat ( Carsons Sea Twister ).
I purchased from Ebay under the brand RC Smart.
The motor is a 4890 rpm/v with a 60 amp esc.
The motor can take up to 18v, and the controller can take up to 25v.
Can anyone tell me how to disable the BEC as the mongrel I purchased it from ( honk Kong ) does not understand how they work and the instructions i got with it dont tell me jack Sh_t.

I want to run 12 cells, this will give me 70416 rpm at the motor, I have a Gws gearbox using 3.75-1 ratio. I am currently running 7.2v through it, there is no probs at all, heat is good from motor and the controller does not even heat up. I plan on running two motors ( thats the reason for 60 amp esc ).
But to do this I have to disable esc ( going via instructions sent to me ).
Currently it goes about double speed from the standard 540 ( originally geared down also )

Can anyone suggest something besides dynamite....!

Also, has anyone tried the Graupner Jet Drives ?
thinking of buying one for a balsa mono, 450mm long..want to experiment...

70416rpm? Don't, unless you're POSITIVE that it can handle it. Most BL motors can only take up to 60krpm max, and I wouln't exceed that #.

Hi Chris, Thats what I thought, the instructions I received with the motor state 6-25v..for the esc and 6-14v for the motor...?
I am wondering if the v limit is 11.1 v, thats a li po i guess,
thanks for the advise Chris.
