Got a quick question, I purchased some Testors Gloss Red Spray Enamel today to paint an RC body, is this paint ok to use? Just wanting to make sure before applying it.

i dont know, but just to be safe i buy only paint that says for LEXAN RC CAR USE. i only use Pactra spray paints. i actually try to avoid testors because it might melt parts of your body.

iv tryed it, it didn't stick. it "bubbled" (for lack of a better term) right off. pealed right off and left an oil on the body that i couldn't fully clean off. wound up cleaning it the best i could and using faskolor to fix it, but because of the oil residue the faskolor wouldn't stick.

Weave, to add to the group, not recommended to use it. There's two things wrong with Testor's Enamel. First, the bonding agent in it will not bond with lexan, hence the stories of it not sticking properly. Secondly, when dried, it's too stiff. Even if it did have the proper bonding agent, once dried and the body flexed, the paint would chip off.

Pick up a polycarbonate specific paint. Pactra and Tamiya both make some in a variety of colors that'll suit your needs.

if you use that and hit a curb or twist the body, the paint will crack and peel off. only get the lexan safe stuff that testors makes.
