I just got some new batteries today, 7 cell gp 3300's, they are in a stick pack and before I go and break them up I was wondering if 540 size motors can handle them? The packs were brand new and only cost $15 a piece, that is why I got them. Anyways I tried one out in my t4 with a 9t double and it went from fast to insane, and was wondering what possible problems could come of it? My esc can handle 7 cell.

I don't know what problems they might cause, but can you tell me where to get some for 15 bucks, I want some for my T4, with a novac 5800 brushless, so I can go Insane. :D

if your ESC can handle it, nothing really bad will happen. your ESC regulates how much power your RX unit gets, so the only thing i could tell you, is to keep an eye on your ESC temp and your motor temp, dont be worried if your motor gets hot (it will with 7 cells) just make sure dont see smoke or burning wires, if you dont see anything after a few solid runs, then i wouldnt worry about anything :)

sry to kinda interfere, but are 7 or 8 cells allowed in stock off-road racing? because that would be pretty sweet :D

I didn't see any smoke, the motor was no hotter with the 7 cell than with 6 cells, but I never run back to back batteries anyways. I usually run a battery then let everything cool down. Bashful, I got them on ebay. With my c2 spec 19 and the 7 cell it was faster than my dads ss5800 with 6 cell

No dirtguy90, unfortunately they are not allowed, but the bonus to having a track you built means you make some of the rules, he he.

lol, im gonna build a track in my basement now....and have nitro cars so i can inhale the smoke and die of some disease...jk

that would be pretty fun, and for bashing that would be GREAT!!! but thx tril

Well I thought my esc could handle 7 cells, but I think I was mistaken. The specs on it says it can however I am now having problems with the esc in general. It is a duratrax intelispeed 8t w/reverse, and now when I apply a very little amount of throttle it goes but when I pull the trigger farther it stops. I have checked everything else, connections, tx, rx, motor, took it apart and nothing seems fried but it is not working.

i think somehow it just got un-tuned. they should have a tuning button on it. put a battery in your car, put batteries in your radio, turn the radio on, set the throttle trim to center and then press the button the esc to calibrate it. it should smooth everything back out :)
