I want to make a "replica" of my Astro and need ideas for making a phantom grille. Also, Does anyone know if there are any TC wheels that look similar to mine?

No the van wasn't on Pimp My Ride :D My buddies and I did all the body paint and suspension work.
No V8 (yet ;) )

lol i have family that live in Vermillion Ohio. is that black color your paint? it kinda looks like primer.

imp retty sure that is primer.. sick van man.. the only way i would think to do the phantom grill is to paint it .. first paint the grill lines and then the lights

for the grille, you can either paint it or make one out of small diameter tubing, rod, wire, etc. for the rims, the links below are the closest i could find

I just though of somthing, you could cut chrome tape into thin strips and apply it to the body for the grille. Where you getting an R/C Astro body from?

ad, HPI used to make one that you can find floating around now and then...


why don't you just paint the grill? :D

No subs yet, I have to design my interior around the 8'3" minichopper that goes in the back :D

Yes the color is Hot Rod Black primer that has faded quite a bit.

I have the old HPI Astro shell.

Those are pretty close. Too bad they're only 5 spokes. Still are better than any thing I already have.

Didnt kyosho made a astro body years ago for there a QRC trucks? i vaguely remeber it was in a old issue of rcca.

I know they made a 95 and newer Astro shell but it was expensive. I think it was like $60 because it came with leg pipes and a visor and crap like that.

I will paint flat black from the outside.
