Hi there, please help.
I have purchased a sea twister electric. It has a std 540 geards down ( 1.5:1 ).
I have put in a venom 19 turn motor with a Sprinter ESC ( 16 turn ), 3000 mha 7.2 v
The boat goes slower and the esc overheats and cuts out. I have placed the oroginal rc unit back into the boat and it does the same. The original speed controller is a simple relay, on or off.
Can anyone please suggest something other than throw it away or use the std motor. I want mpore speed.

What prop are you running? It sounds like it is overpropped. When you change the motor, in many cases, you have to change the prop too. If you run cars, think of it like the gearing. You use different gearing for stock, mod, and spec motors. The same goes for boats, but with them, it's props.

Chris is right about the props. It's too early to give up. Sea Twister is new to me . Who makes it ? Can we get a look at it. Generaly the 19turn spec motors are much faster than the standard stock can motor. n.h.schmidt
