Its like asking "which is better, blue ink or black ink?", they both do the same thing, they just look different.

Try both of them at the LHS. Go for the one you feel more comfortable with.

personally i like futaba's quality over the hitec, i have a linx and used a sport, the linx grip is small for my hand ,im only 14, and the feel for the futaba is better with a rubber coated steering nob. also the hitech reciever is bigger than the futaba and futaba's crystalls are more compatabe with other recievers while the hitec is not, but the hitec does use the universal plugs which ar being used more and more over the custom ones, correct me if im wrong ne 1. just my $.02

I think a good first radio is the Airtronics Blazer (not the sport model). It has end point adj. for steering and throttle plus for about 70 bucks its a good start. model # BL2P if you wont to check it out more plus a price go to www.hobbypeople.net (http://www.hobbypeople.net) they are the cheapest that I have found it. But all 3 radios are good this is just my pick. Hope this helps.
