I was curious if anyone has one of these. I thought it would be a great basher and gasoline is about $28 a gallon cheaper than nitro ;)

If someone has a Traxxas Monster Buggy would you share your experiences with me? I am considering putting some $$$ away during the winter and buying one of these before spring.

thanks
Jay

The FG Marder is a lot cheaper than the Monster Buggy, if it really costs $900! I can buy a Marder here for 1390 Dutch guilders, which is about $580 US.

The FG is probably better quality too, and it's about the same thing (zenoah engine, 1/6 buggy)

I am amazed these things are rediculously expensive in the US. Check out http://www.rccarinternational.com

You can see the competetion FG car for just over 1000 euro, which is just under 1000 dollars.

The Marder is well over $1000 here in the US, not including electronics.
Do you have any idea how much an FG Competition would go for in Amsterdam? They run about $2250 US here. I wonder how much shipping would run from the Netherlands.

The special competition version with special "solo" engine (more powerful than the zenoah) goes for about 2500 guilders. This is about $1040. Since they are pretty heavy, and large, shipping will be expensive. $100 for priority, $50 for economy. This is calculated with a package that weighs 15-20 kg.

Maybe we can work something out. The Competition, with shipping is going to run me $2350. Sounds WAY too good to be true @ just a crack over $1000.

These things seem like a bashers delight! I'm surprised a lot of people don't have them. The price tag isn't so bad if you don't plan on a lot of hop ups,... and I don't think there is many available anyway.

I would be very interested in seeing an article on the Monnster Buggy in RCCA! How about a new monthly feature: Basher of the Month!

honestly...if i had 600 to blow, id rather buy a 1/8 buggy, its a better basher, doesnt need a huge amount of room, and is race capable
