Instead of having classifieds, Have a for sale and wanted forum. In my eyes it would be much easier and would allow us to reply to and add instead of emailing. Just an idea.

I think it's a great idea too, but if you don't, could you please have the dates added to the ads? It would make it much easier to decide if something is likely to still be available, without several people bothering the poster long after something was advertised. With a forum though, people could post when an item's been sold.

For Sale and Wanted forums bring huge problems to boards---namely, legal problems, accountability issues, and people wanting to blame the conference moderators for their problems. This is why HPI's For Sale forum was taken down---too many dishonest "sellers" who were cheating people out of their products and money.

But its really not different than posting a classified except you can reply to an add w/out emailing. There are also ways around all the problems. First you can ask for a persons real name and address and even telephone # and do a people search to see if they are actually a real person and not someone trying to rip someone off. You an also ask for references; for example, they may be a member to another rc site and have had good trades with people there. Just something to think about.

here another idea: force the users to gin up differently, like wnating all the information, including full address. also, make another page where people can post bad and good traders(kind of like the ebay rating system) do it with and without email.
i think it would work if we made all the leagal stuff legit.

RC10GT_bb, the problem w/ email is that most of the time you never hear back; Some people have multiple addresses or switch some time after posting, and just forget about the other. Its just something to think about.
