Would This Work?

I am planning on making a twin motor r/c and wanted to know if this setup would work? It has 1 motor on each side of a 1 gear tranny.
any feedback would be appreciated. Sorry about the quality of microsoft paint, I currently do not have any CAD software.

yes it'll work.that's the basic twin motor design.don't forget to get two identical motors

With the motors facing the same way, if their pinions are bearing against a common gear in the middle, I think you'll find the motors need to rotate in opposite directions... then again IT IS 4:00AM! :D

no they need to rotate in the same direction faced that way.

I sit corrected, they should indeed rotate in the same direction, unless you're trying to shave the teeth off the spur gear! :eek:
