I just purchased an air compressor but I have a couple of questions. I am going to get a regulator and a moisture trap tonight but I dont know where to put them. Should they come right at the tanks fitting or right before the air bush? Does it matter how far away they are?
Thanks J.H.

It shouldn't matter too much where the fittings are, just as long as they're there. Usually, you'll put them right at the tanks so there's less fittings to worry about. At the tanks, you'll put your regulator. After the regulator comes the hose and moisture trap. Some like the moisture trap attached to the regulator, some like it closer to the brush. It's your call on that one. But, once again...tank, then regulator, then moisture trap.

hey Slow a LIL tip for ya get your self some water and some food coloring and some old newspaper and practice getting used to the operation of your new brush. I did this when I got my first and it realy helps you get a good feel for how the trigger works and gives you a visual referance as to what happens when you spray at diferent distances.
and it a lot cheaper then body shells.

^^^^:D Absolutely!!!! Before you put paint in that brush for a body, put in the practice time the cheap way. Dyslexic's idea is the best around for practicing. Learn the feel for the trigger, spray patterns and distances, and when you do put paint in it, it'll come out that much better.

my compressor has a regulator built in, so i only needed the moisture trap. i have a regular air compressor, not an air brush compressor, so i needed to easily connect and disconnect my air brush. i bought the trap and put the standard quick disconnects on it that are on all standard air hoses. i then put a female disconnect on my air brush hose also. you can see it all in the pic below. the air compressor hose connects to the left inlet.

another item that works great for practicing, is 2 liter soda bottles. its the same material as a car body, just need to drink the contains, rinse it out, let it dry, cut in half, and make sure the inside is clean. from there, you can practice doing all kinda of things.

Thanks for all the help. I started messing around with it today and I just can't believe how fine of a line you can draw. My local track won't open again for another 3 weeks so I have sometime to really pratice. Once again thanks and I can't wait to paint.
