I have been patiently waiting for the Mean Machine RTR to be out on the marcket, but today I checked funrcboats and it is delayed until late August. I am sick of waiting!!! My summer is half way over and I still have yet to buy a new boat. I have about $500, but am saving some (Parents Wishes). So I have about $400 to spend on a new boat. My friend has two shockwave 36's and I was going to buy one off him cheaper then on the marcket but I want something different, but something that could keep up with the shockwave 36. I dont care if it is a hydro, a tunnel hull, a catermaran or a deep vee, because I live at a camp by a lake in the summer and there is always calm water either during the day or at the end of the day. The shockwave 36 is fast but takes a while to accelerate, and isnt the bester turner. I would probably need a boat that could go 30mph to race my friend. Now the question is what I should get! Not the nitro hammer, not the aqua jet, not the miss bud, not the Bruzer because it went up $50. I dont know what else there is? Ok after all that typing  I think I have been specific enough, but that will probably mean that I will not get any replies. And for those who might say just go with the shockwave, I dont want to get the shockwave, my friend has had countless problems, I wouldnt be making this post if I wanted the shockwave 36. Once again, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Put the money towards a used gas boat.

Dont most used gas boats come with homelite engines which are slow? Im looking for at least 30mph. Used boats with zenoah engines seem to cost tons of money. What would you suggest? I know your an expert on Gasoline powered boats.

Thanks for the links Micho523, but those boats are all a little out of my price range. I only have $400 to spend on a boat, and those will all surely go above $500, at least I think.

Seems like your having a quandry on what to do!

You seem to know whats out there on the market and know the prices and such. Nothing appeals to you new in the 400 or lower price range. So as said used may be the way to go.

Ebay can be a good place to pick stuff up at, but you must know your stuff & how to work on stuff, or you can get stuck with a lemon of sorts.

Looking on the net in other forums classifieds would be another good place to look as well.

I have tunnel that would eat your friends Shockwave for lunch. But not on the market yet, maybe in a few weeks........

Good Luck :)

I found this hull on ebay, its made for electric but does anyone know if it can be easily be made into a nitro boat? I could put a .18 in it.

homelite slow....you must have never seen Gas boats lol
and a Zenoah engine isnt that bad to purchase check out ebay. I have an older zenoah G23 PUM and I still have a blast with it at the water. Whts there not to like? long run time. usually reliable. and really turns heads when someone sees a large GAS boat.
Consider looking for a used Gas boat they are out there and worth it.
Perhaps to help you out another family member may like to join you in this hobby? It will help alot if Dad is part of it.
Good Luck.
Chris.
