I was mounting some tires to the stock wheels that come with the T4 kit, and in an effort to prevent excess glue from getting on the tires, I put that blue painters masking tape on the tires. Well the thin CA glue ran under the tape, and now I have blue sidewall tires. :(

Does any body have any Idea how to get this off without damaging the tire. I tried laquer thinner, did'nt work. And I tried boiling hot water for a few minutes with only very limited success.

Is there any thing that cuts ( dissolves ) CA glue, and not rubber.

I don't know how to get the ca glue and tape off of your tire, but I got a funny stupid newbie mistake story. A freind of mine was building a TXT-1 kit and instead of filling the shocks with oil, he filled them with ca glue. hahahaha

nailpollish remover will dissolve the CA enough to get your blue sidewall off.

This is quite true! Take some time though.

You can use super glue de-bonder, available at most hardware stores.

I had no idea they made such a thing. I guess you could probably use it to take tires off of rims too?

you may comprimise the bond at the tire bead if you use a de-bonder or nail polish remover. I am sure that you will wearr those tires out in no time. Don't make the same mistake twice.

Thanks for all the tips.

I never heard of super glue debonder either, but I may try that. I will just put some blue tape over the tire bead so I don't break the bead. :D Just kidding no more blue tape for me.

I am going to go in and build the shocks right now, but I will put the CA glue in a seperate room before I start. ;)

Buy a pint or quart of acetone... I think it's basically the same thing as nail polish remover... and much less expensive.

The acetone in the nail polish remover is what does the work. Using straight acetone would work better but if there is a woman in the house there is prob nail polish remover.

Well, I just got home from work, stopped and bought a small bottle of nail polish remover, only 99 cents, read your posts, and then read the bottle. It is non-acetone. :( I will try it any way and keep you posted.
