Hi guys,
I recently got a new Tamiya Raybrig NSX 2004 TB-02 Kit and am building it, I have the stock motor with me and was wondering how fast does the stock motor go? also what would you guys suggest is the next thing to do.... a diff motor? or change to a different pinion?, I alreaady have new metal bearings....what would make a big difference in the speed?....thanks in advance

The stock motor should get you into the upper teens maybe. Bearings are a big upgrade, probably the most important for any car. Oil shocks are #2, but I think your car already has them.

A good competition stock motor or mild modified would help increase speed a lot. What kind of electronics do you have?

Thinking of getting the Alu shaft.....but is it necessary now???, what do you think I should do next, whats the deal with these spur kits and pinion sets are they any help?......and thanks for the response

Different spur and pinion gears change the speed and acceleration of your car. Most people change the pinion gear. When you get a new motor most of the time you will have to change the gearing to make it run at its best.

Do you plan to race or bash?

The guys have already given some good suggestions for that car, but if you really want a lot of info on the car, there is a dedicated TB-02 thread in another section of this forum, in the Vehicles section(look for electric on-road)....

Well back here in India they're not 2 many guys into onroad RC so......but i have a couple of buddies, some on nitro and a few on electric so... guess it'll be just bashing around :(. And gues wat I've already blown round about $300 on the damn thing.....germany is expensive. Newayz the car is 2 coll so guess it's ok... I've already got a ESC with the kit, its an EU101bk or something of the sort....what motor do you suggest that'll make the most of the ESC (I'm looking at a stock motor )....thanks for the reply guys...oh almost forgot...how do I get extra clearence, please do let me know cos here it's pretty much like rallying even on asphalt....if u know wat i mean ;)

Ouch. You should see how much it would cost to order from America: Products are generally less expensive here because of import fees, shipping, etc to Europe.

I think a stock motor will be OK with that ESC, sorry I can't recommend which one specifically. Any would be much peppier than the stock motor.

The same hop-ups apply to the TT-01: Oil shocks, ball bearings, and Tamiya makes a bunch of hop-ups for the car.

There should be a dedicated TT-01 thread in one of the other forums here.
