The Rustler is definitely built to be tougher than the high-end race trucks. But they lose some performance benefits through added weight due to their durability.

The worst crash I ever saw was at an indoor dirt track. At the end of the back straight, there was a banked corner, so if you couldn't make the corner you would jump the bank. To keep trucks & buggies from going through the wall, the track operator had put a sheet of plywood there to protect the wall. I saw a Losi truck nail the plywood pretty much full-speed. It broke the chassis right in half, and did a lot of damage to the front suspension and steering. A lot of drivers learned the hard way to slow down for that corner!

At a different track, I saw a buggy (don't remember which brand) that had a graphite chassis. After a bad crash, the battery somehow got crooked in the chassis and the terminals came to rest on the chassis. Since graphite conducts electricity, it caused the battery to short out and it began to smoke. The driver quick jumped down from the stand and tore the body off his buggy, when all the oxygen hit the fire the whole thing practically burst into flame. He lost his battery and ESC, not to mention melting all his wiring. Make sure those saddle packs are secured in a graphite chassis!

I have one,
I was making a practice run at the track with my RS4 Sport 2 and I took a corner to sharp, hit the corner dot and it launched the rs4 into the air like 4 feet.
it did like 20 flips and rolls and it finally came to a stop on the other side of the track on its wheels.
I gunned the throtle to see if it still worked and it did!
To my suprise when i drove it back to the pit lane nothing broke! Not even a dent!
This car is indestructible!

I once lost signal to my rc10 at top speed with a modified twisters motor.
it hit a concrete wall and bent the alluminum frame in half. OUCH!

Rustlers sure are tough. You can even make them tougher by adding the aluminum parts made by GPM. www.gpmracing.com (http://www.gpmracing.com)

I was testing my MP5 in a parking lot when I lost signal to the receiver,of course the throttle was wide open. The car went sreaming across the lot(in a straight line I was impressed with my trim setting) anyway it went under a gate frame and sheared the top of the heat sink off and tore the motor from the frame.I ran after it because the motor was still running and had to scale a fence ripping clothes and skin.
