i decided to run my xray m18 today and it has a team orion baja motor in it, and when i brought it in i used my temp gun to see how hot it was, it felt hot, and the temp was 113 F. is that to hot for a micro motor? im new to electric. thanks

I know that the standard 540 motors will begin to fail at 200 degrees. At this temp the magnets lose their power and they soften and will distort. not to mention that I had a motor get so hot the solder inside and the solder that attached the leads melted. If you are under 150 degrees, I wouldn't worry

thanks, the gear mesh is imposable to see on this car so i cant tell how tight it is, that might be a reason it runs a little hot.thanks for your help.

Just use the normal paper method to get the gear mesh. Once you do it a few times, you get the feel of how far apart the spur/pinion are.

i feel for a small click-click when i spin the spur. that tells me that i have just enough play inbetween the gears making a perfect mesh

you may want to drop a tooth or two on your pinion
