I've got a .21 powered T maxx, an OFNA 1/8th buggy, a nitro 4-tec and an RC10GT that flies....

I'm looking into 1/8th on road and I want SPEED much more than tight handling.....

HPI Proceed, GS sonic, Serpent(Pricey), OFNA GTP, NEO... etc etc...

If you have one of these please give an honest opinion (and speed if its been clocked)...

Thanks.....

The HPI Proceed, Serpent Vector and Veteq, and all cars like them are pretty comparable when it comes to top speed. The 4wd buggy based cars that you listed are plenty quick, but aren't going to have the top end of the "pan" cars.
I've seen a Vector run 88 mph, according to the policeman that was clocking cars down the back straight of our track. This was a car that lacked NOTHING in the corners, either. I've heard rumors of these cars going MUCH faster, but I don't want to sound like an idiot making false claims. :)
Make sure you take in to consideration the cost of the complete setup of one of these cars. Kit, motor, servos, starter box, body, etc... Is it really worth it just to have a car to run back and forth in front of your house? Probably not. These cars are very limited as far as surfaces are concerned, you must have a flat, clean, wide open area to run. Small imperfections in the surface can turn one of these cars in to a surace-to-air missile.
You may want to consider one of the "rally game" cars (1/8th scale buggy type chassis), or a super ten size car, such as the HPI Super Nitro and Kyosho FW-04. These cars have more suspension travel, and would be more useful for screaming around the neighborhood.
