Tamiya Dyna Blaster and Dyna Storm, what went wrong?

I was looking threw some old RCCA mags from back in the day from in my closet. I notice that RCCA had a 2WD buggy shoot out and it included the Tamiya Dyna Storm.

Also seen the Dyna Blaster in another issue. What was so bad about those 2 competitive models that Tamiya felt the need to stop production on it?

They looked pretty good to me, atleast.

I think Tamiya just doesn't do much as far as sponsoring drivers on the national level. Both the Dyna Storm and Dyna Blaster got pretty favorable reviews if I remember correctly. BTW, the Dyna Storm is being re-released from what I've heard. Not sure if it's going to be the exact same car or not.

Yeah? If i can even find someone who is selling the orignals then i will mos def buy em. I've always like the those 2 models.

They could just be added competition to the off road class, schumacher,TL,assoc,Kyosho etc.

I stole those pics off of an Ebay auction. I would have bid on it but I could not read it ! It was all in German. So I stole his pics instead :p
I don't really "miss" it per se, but I would like to have another one. It was cool driving a sleeper. Most peope, especially back then, associated Tamiya with "cheap" and "beginner". When I would be succesful with it, I got a lot of attention. And, if you haven't noticed, I kinda like that :D

I would still race that buggy if i had it too. And i intend on doing just that when i get it :)

That is how much they were going for though. VERY expensive.
