I bought some used RC equipment a few days ago and got a motor that I have never heard of. It is a Precision Motor Works "BAD ANIMAL".Has a green sticker with companies name. The Endbell has EPIC on the side with the brushes and springs, and ROAR 91 on the other side.Just curious if anyone out there has ever heard of it and might know what it is.

It's an OLD TRINITY imported motor wound by a small company (there are numerous out there) The name sounds familiar but I just can't place it at the moment.

Its a basic 27 turn, older style stock motor. Just to let you know, todays stock motors are much more powerfull and turn higher RPMs. That motor will not turn more than 15,000RPM +/- at the max. A newer stock motor can give you up to 26,000+RPMs, they are rebuildable, thus you can tune the motors much better. Does it have stand up brushes? In the 80s-early 90s most stock motors used stand up brushes, not like todays stock motors that use laydown brushes.

It is an old generation EPIC stock motor. In the past, the importes had to stamp the can with ROAR on it in order to be ROAR legal/approved. 91 is the year that the motor was imported into the USA.

Not much help, but I hope it tells you something about your motor.

That's a tough one: The name doesn't sound familiar, but like ikraj said, there were lots of smaller motor companies who just bought parts and re-labeled them.

What color is the endbell? Is the can bare silver or is it anodized some color.
