rc points system!

i heard that they are going to have a points system next year. I think that that is a great idea! And i may even be able to go race at one since they will be hosting races all across the country! It will also be more fun to keep up with who has the most points. What do you guys think?

I haven't realy found a place yet. I usualy race at Alison's over in little rock, Arkansas. But I have looked at Competition RC and another place I can't remember in OKC. I live a long way from there in a small town called Broken Bow. It is in the very Southeastern Corner of the state. I am going to try out this place east of Dallas next racing season.

Like, IFMAR or other sanctoning bodies will. I am pretty sure, thats what R/C Car said.

Point systems won't work, it will then be based on who has enough money to get to all the races to participate to get points, so it will take out those drivers that are good but don't have the money to get to all the races.

they area going to have some way to regulate that. Like a nuamber of races will only count to the points or something like that. I can't remember all the details. Steve, can you help us out on the topic.

that was an idea, or suggestion... it was NOT a fact from ROAR, NORRCA, or IFMAR.....

it's a good idea though... to determine one national champion based on overall scores from several different types of RC racing (on-road, off-road, nitro, electic)...

one of the other internet rumors is to not have so many different nats each year, but to combine them... i.e.- hold all the electric nats one week, all the nitro's another.... right now it is NUTS... seems like every other weekend there is a nat this summer of some type, and most are 3-4 day events....

A points system makes sense for the factory guys who attend every race anyways. Without it, a guy could get lucky and attend one big race and be a National or world champion. Having one race determin a championship doesn't make nearly as much sense as a series. It probably would give the r/c sport more legitimacy for outsders too.
