I think that the Chameleon 2 is the best 19 spec motor out there, but I was wondering something. Can the C2 armature be used in a Reedy Quad Spec can? Also what are some other 19's you like to use that are top notch like the C2?
Thank

I like the Team Orion Element. As for putting a 19 turn armature in a quad mag can, go ahead and try it. This would be considered a hybrid motor though and not allowed at some tracks.

I'm going to try the Element as well. I have the Chameleon 2 and the Reedy Spec 19, and though they are both good motors, nothing compares to the new Revolution motors. I have a Peak 12x2 in my B4, and even after running a couple club races and then the Regionals, the comm still looks great.

Has anybody run the Cobalt 9 Teen's or the Checkpoint 19's?

You might have to adjust the timing 180 degrees.

All the 19turns have something that makes one type good for a certain type of use or form of racing. As far as I know clubs that use a ROAR rule format the 19T mods are only legal in oval racing at least according to the 2005 rules. The 19turn mod started in the ARCOR sanctioned oval racing and were adopted into the ROAR oval racing rules. Offroad and TC are still using the Spec 19turn but clubs may allow the other ones.
Many of the aftermarket motor companies began making these motor which based on the three major motor manufacturers TOP (orion/peak) vantage can, standup endbell with some using the V2 can, Epic (D5 cans, D4 standup endbell,D6 or Cobalt can, and Yokomo (Reedy Ti can or Pt can). Armatures are handwound, with adjustable endbells. The major companies selling these motors are Putnam, KC Racing, Kisbey, Fantom, Custom Works with a couple of new companies and Trinity. The 19turn mod are faster than the 19turn Spec because of the ability to adjust the timing to make power and standup brushes generally help produce more rpms. When you start comparing the 19turn mods again you get one motor based on what the builders does that makes one motor produce more power than another builders' motor. I purchased the Trinity Ulta bird and 9 teen motors to compare with a Kisbey motors 19turn based Cobalt can. The little things done to the Kisbey motor made it perform much better than either of the Trinity motors out of the box, with some tuning they were okay but still lacked a little power.
When I did race the 19turn spec class I still preferred the Yokomo Quad 19 or the older Rage can 19turn spec over the Chameleon because of several reasons. While the two ran close to the same the Yokomo tended to run longer, more consistantly. Every C2 motor I had tended to fade after the third or forth run, even after comm turing, brush and spring changes the motors were still down on power.

Hey Roller, I was refering to 19 spec's. But since I'm just going to bash, well for know anyway, with my XXX-T MF 1 I want to get the best of the newst 19's spec or outlaw 19's ( motors that have adjustible timing. I really like the Cobalt 9 teen's but I was wondering what armature would I use when I need to replace it? Would it be the same one as used in the C2?
Thanks

Your just going to bash? So why do you keep posting new threads on different motors, gears, etc.
Does it really matter what motor you use if your just going to be doughnuts in the road?
There is a search button and I'm sure all of the questions you have, have probably been answered before.

Mugen, yes I'm just going to bash in the since that I'm not going to participate in regionals. I will be doing club racing, I'm just trying to get my XXX-T ast fast as possible for the open 19 class.

Running a club race is still considered racing.
Racing = running on a prepared RC track.
Bashing = running anywhere else. :p
I would imagine the Cobalt 19 would be pretty good. I know one of my friends I race with just received one from his sponsor and it looked incredible on the dyno. :)

True bashing is just messin and racing is just racing. Cool thing is the class I'm going to race in is a open 19 class and is considered the bash class. There will be no points and there are only 2 qualifers and 1 final. And all races are strictly for fun. :)

Well, if your racing, give the Peak Element 19 spec a try. Since getting the Peak Revolution motor, I won't run any other type of motor. Comms last quite a while, brushes are cheap, and they seem to run quieter than other motors as well.
If you try the Element motor and don't like it, sell it to me.

So RH which track offers this 19t open class?

Well if they do open it called North West Houston Bash, but that is if they do hold races at this point it's just to have fun at. If they don't holde races there I might race a M&M.

Stumper, I'm glad to see you calling it as it is.
What is his fixation with 19 turn motors, is he trying to prove something, trying to get attention, or what???? How hard is it to figure out a 19 turner...why dosen't he just buy one, test it, if he does not like it, get another one...maybe that takes too much common sense... :D  :D Are we to continue seeying weekly threads about ????? xxxx 19 turn motors?????xxxxx

Just do a quick search on his posts and you'll see that he does the same thing with everything...... He also lives in a total fantasy world......
his best story to date is the one that some kid got hit in the head by a 1/8th scale buggy and was put in a coma for 2 weeks......... I pretty much check out every texas message boards out there and never read or heard anything about it..........Im pretty sure something like that wouldnt have gone unnoticed.

As far as the "fantasy world", not sure what you mean (Stumper), the kid did get hit but being over three years maybe I remebered wrong ( :D ). But I know for a fact he did have a concussion. Now on thw 19 turn motors, they are my favorite and have the perfect blend of power as well as run time

What about the turbo 35?? You own one of those too huh?

I guess a 1/8 buggy COULD give you a concussion, I've had a couple of them catch my ankles at full pelt, no damage yet just brusies but it hurts like hell at the right angle. I'm pretty sure if some kid was put in a coma there'd be a record of it somewhere. The kids parents probably would have sued the company that made the car these days :D
The performance difference when BASHING with 19 turn motors isn't much once you have a good one like you have now, my personal tilt is towards V2 style motors. If you want more performance get better brushes, skim the comm and maybe try different springs. But you won't notice this much on a wide open street, on a track you notice a lot. I had a Reedy quad mag and Peak racing V2 19t motors, both felt the same when geared correctly bashing, put it on a track though and you notice the difference in the motors. By far i preferred the feel of the V2, my laptimes were always better with it.

I would get the Element 19 turn V2 motor; since you are bashing and/or racing for fun, it would fit you very well since it will go for a long time between rebuilds while still offering decent power. ;)
If you don't like the V2 motors, I would buy a Cobalt 19 and install the XXX brushes.

If the chameleon is such a good 19 turn motor or the BEST then why do you want to create a hybrid...it does not make any sense whatsoever...There are many 19turn motors that are as good or better than the Chameleon. Actually, the chamelon would not be tin my list of top 3 19 turn motors.
What applicattion are you looking to use the 19 turn motor in, maybe that way we can recommend something better.

Stumper I used to live in Texas and know most of the top OLD driver out there and track owners (Dallas, Houston, and San antonio). I'm sure some of my old friends would have mentioned something if such a news worthy event would have occured. I AGREE WITH YOU...
