What pinions for a 17t T4?

I'm planning on a T4 here soon and I'm gonna be running a 17t Amber in it. I have 13-15t pinions that I used in my Pede now, will they be alright for the truck with that motor, or should I have something else? I won't be racing or anything, just driving around.

I know this is a common question, but I tried searching and came up with nothing.

13-15 tooth pinions are little low but you could use with no problems what so ever.i would recomend a 17 or 18 tooth if you use the stock 87 tooth spur.but how & where you drive it will make the final decision

I agree with boborc, as to where & how you drive. But I would start with a 20t with normal slipper setting for asphalt, run on asphalt and if it doesn't slip then go down in teeth.
