I am a new enthusiast that is looking to get into the RC game. I had a truck like this when I was a child and would like to get started back up. First I am looking at a Electric 2WD RTR Stadium Truck Kit...so I can get started...I will probably go bigger as time goes on...but this is a start.

Let me know what your suggestions are?

The Losi XXX-T RTR2 and the Associated T4 RTR are the RTR versions of the two dominant 2WD racing trucks. They both come with great electronic gear for a RTR, with the Losi having a slightly better radio.

I would go for the T4 RTR, parts avilability is brilliant, and its supposed to be a very tidy truck. I run an older version of it, the T3, its a smooth truck to drive so the T4 should be better still.

Thanks for the heads up...I was looking the Traxxas Rustler and the DuraTrax Evader...they seemed to be better on the price end...

What do you think about those?

Well if your playing around in the yard or any dirt pile you can find they will be fine. The Evader has seen some durability issues in the past but they have an excelent parts replacement warranty. If you plan on racing these are capable of it but you would be better off with the Losi or Associated.

Well in the title you say BEST RTR truck, the trucks you mention are by far not the best, but they're good value for money if your just bashing and not thinking of racing. You can race them but you may find it being outperformed and out handled by losi/associated trucks.

Long and the short, look into the rustler if you don't plan on racing and just want to bash on a budget. Look towards the T4/XXX-T if you think you may race in the future, or want a really good truck.

Thanks for the heads up...what would you suggest for the backyard basher?

I have the nitro version of the evader and it can do well on the track or just bashing in the yard, but i think the t4 would be your best option and the evader would be the second best.

I think the T4 would be your best bet whatever you do, brilliant for racing, very good parts avilability, fairly cheap parts (check out rcboyz on ebay for parts..less than RRP), and its a pretty durable truck. You can get a full range of alloy upgrades for it if you decide to as well. Plus there's a lot of shells that fit them. And if you ever find its not going through long grass well get some Masher 2000 tyres for it :) Then you have to play with the gearing abit..

One thing I would do in the future is change out the RTR motor for one with ball bearings fitted..stock one should be plenty fast for you though.

get a losi xxxt. theres parts at all of the lhs's and there great... very very durable(more so then the t4's) and can handle pretty much whatever you give to it. whether you'll just be bashing or racing, this is the truck to have. get a losi xxxt2
