I live in Ann Arbor too, as a college student. Do you guys know of good race tracks (on- or off-road) in the area? I am looking into getting a new kit sometime this year and I figuring I would go with something I could race with.

Hi there, as for tracks in the area.... what do you race? There is a place that races indoors in the winter, at the Washtenaw farm council county fairgrounds in saline. It's an indoor offroad track, that only races electric.

I race at a place called Dirtburners (http://www.dirtburner-racing.com/), out in commerce, It's an indoor offroad track, they race Nitor and Electric, and they are in the process of building an outdoor offroad track as well.
Larrys hobbies, and RCScrewz have indoor carpet tracks, and they is many other offroad outdoor tracks in MI, depending on how far you want to drive...
Check out this link Rc-Pimp (www.rcpimp.com) and become a member, lots of kool guys on there, including myself....But it is all 95% Michigan based forums. hope this helps ya out.

By the way, I actually live in Milan

Thanks JamminJay. The Hobby Town USA in Ann Arbor closed down. I found the manager had moved his store closer to downtown and is now just selling table top games like Warhammer. I have found Riders Hobby shop in Ypsilanti and a guy there mentioned some of these places especially Dirtburners where he raced.

You wouldn't happen to know him (or be him, lol)? Drives a 2wd buggy and is sponsored by Riders to drive a 4wd buggy based on a TC3 chassis.

I want to have a nitro but I think being in college it is easier to have an electric. I feel more of a push to go on-road. But I have experienced both. I have a HPI Micro and Mini-T.

Mini -T... ahhh I want one of them as a little brother to my xxxNT Drake.
Nope I'm not him...Was his name Jeff? ( I think that's his name???? ) i don't like dealing with riders in Ypsi. Only the one guy there. Their people seem to be more into trains and games, and they never have what I need. Yes, hobbytown closed up... ALTHO, I heard there was one in brighton, or a similar store. if you go onroad elec.. Riders in Taylor is nice to race in the summer. They have a cash back series. and in winter rcscrewz and Larrys has nice tracks.

I don't remember his name JamminJay.

If you are interested in getting a Mini-T you might as well go for the Pro version. I had the RTR version that I have been basicly upgrading to the Pro version specs minus one part or two.

This question probability should go on a different forum but . . . do you have any experience with XXX-T MF or T4 FT? If I get an off-road truck it will be one of these two.

yea I was thinking the pro too, since I have a kick *** radio system.

Sorry, tho I dont really have any experience in electrics at all. I may get a xxx4 G+ and race it up at washtenaw this winter, depending on how my finances pan out.
