How long can I, and should I soak my TC3 wheels in acetone for to release the glue?

Heck you will go brain dead over the fumes, boil them for an hour and use rubber gloves to pull them off the rims while they are still hot. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gifIt works!

I ended up soaking them overnight in acetone, worked pretty good.

I just bought a gallon of acetone, (the guy at the hobby shop told me to do it) I haven't tried it yet, But I hope it works as well for me as it did for you

acetone works great , just be aware it is extremely flammable , use a container that has a lid it evaporates quickly and the fumes will travel to an ignition source.
it works great on most rims , I hear that it messes up the chrome look alike rims , from what I hear the chrome type rims have a higher plastic content and less nylon to help the chrome to stick to rim , and acetone messes then up , I don't use them type of rims but I figured I'd pass it along to give you a heads up , maybe someone else can confirm it that has tried it.

I don't know about the chrome rims, but it really messes Yokomo rims up.( mine melted in about 5 mins.)

Shouldn't mess them up. I find that over time the yellow truck and buggy rims fade in color a bit using acetone. Proline and Losi rims are ok to use. Mosy of the time I boil mine though, I'm usually in a hurry. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

I just boiled one of my Losi rims out of the XXXT kit. The Neon Yellow....well lets just say it isn't that Neon Yellow anymore. Its looks yellow still has a little neon tint to it but you have to look close to see the color change. But its all good! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
