i made meantion of these brushes in the june paint competition thread and figured i'd post a pic so you could see them. i don't know who makes them, where they came from, or how much they were (i know, i'm a treasure trove of information.) they were a gift from my aunt who does nails and thought i could make use of these brushes. you can also find some fine detail brushes in hobby shops that deal with models or puter figurines. i have some others from the hobby shop that have a shorter bristle than the set pictured here.

Wow..those are nice. And I imagine that they hold up well when used with lacquer paints. There are somewhat similar long bristled and super fine brushes available in art supply shops. Floquil makes a 5/0 Precision Liner Brush.

those are very nice!! They'll hold up incredibly well with lacquer, especially since they're designed for acetone based paints. Take exceptional care of those and they'll take great care of you. Given their design, the paint should flow very nicely and smoothly with them.

I'll have to look for something like that. I still have my professionals discount card at Sally Beauty Supply ;)

Yep I use those brushes for pewter figurines, and for plastic models. They're perfect for painting gray hair on dwarf beards and rivets on fuselages. Pretty sure that you can get them at duane reade.
