Pro-Line says...

The 1:8 Crime Fighter design has captured numerous National Championships and an IFMAR World Championship. It was designed by Pro-Line’s Team of Enthusiasts ensuring the absolute best performance on a variety of surfaces. The same technology that went into the 1:8 tire is now available for standard MAXX size wheels. Introducing the all-new Crime Fighter MT.
“The Crime Fighter MT produces more forward bite and more side bite than any monster truck tire I have ever ran,” says Pro-Line team driver Lance Norick. Lance took the Crime Fighter MT to the top of the podium at Round 2 of the East Coast Nitro Series.
Its unmatched side bite performance is attributed to the staggered design of the pins and the diamond shaped elongated center tread provides the unparalleled forward bite. Narrower in design than the Bow Tie MT, it’s narrower tire width reduces the overall weight by 15%.
When you’re looking to out maneuver, out corner, and out class the competition, then check out a set of Pro-Line’s new Crime Fighter MT tires.
Features:
· Narrow Carcass
· Lighter design reduces rotating mass for greater acceleration
· Foam Inserts included
· Made from super-soft M2 compound

Look at the size of the hole in the wheels. Maybe they are making 23mm standard size wheels.

Yup, they make 23mm standard maxx wheels. They have been on Prolines site for a while.

If this tire mounts on a standard width T-Maxx wheel, then how can it be 15% lighter and also be narrower???
What am I missing? Is there a new wheel design that goes along with this tire?
I'm sure I will end up trying these, but the sidewalls look like they'll flex over in hard cornering, especially under the weight of a 10 or 11 pound monster truck. I really like the concept of a lighter MT tire, but it should be modeled after the 40 series.
This could end up being great tire for Revo or TNX, but might not work on Monster GT or Losi LST. It will be interesting.

Those listed on Tower say 1/2 offset, but the Pro-Line's website says they're 0 offset. Am I missing something?
And for standard Maxx sized tires to fit on the Revo, is 0 or 1/2 offset need for the rim?
Thanks.

ChevySS, it will be lighter because it is narrower. Less material on the side wall as well. Look at the pic of this bow tie. Quite a difference.

Skribble, those wheels i linked to are the 23mm version of the standard maxx wheel. I believe they ARE offset, and the regular maxx wheel (non 23mm) come in both the offset, and standard.

Ummm.... No. The proline 1/2 inch offset would make your truck wider than using a standard proline wheel. Which is why they tell Revo owners to use them. The extra width is needed for the massive suspension travel, so you dont hit the arms.

Well, if you look at all the diagrams on that page, you will see that EVERY wheel is either zero offset or negative offset. Negative offset makes the trackwidth wider.
Bottom line: Pro-line does not make any wheels (on that page) that give narrower trackwidth, only wider (negative offset) or stock trackwidth (zero offset).
Of course, trackwidth could still be wider using zero offset wheel with wider wheel and tire.....

Chevy SS, you are very right! Thank you for pointing that out. I KNEW that those offset wheels made trucks wider. I mean i've seen them, and used them. That offset guide really needs to be read CLOSELY to not get confused.

If your offset stays the same, the centerline of the wheel stays the same relative to another wheel and tire combo. So in this case, with the narrower tire, your overall truck width is going to be narrower. However the track width will stay the same (centerline of tire to centrline of tire).

They are positive offset, the waybash is a positive offset wheel and makes your truck more narrow than the regular 40 series.Pushing the the hub of a rim to the out side of a rim wont make it appear wider when mounted on the truck.Pulling it back to or past the centerline toward the inside of the rim will.Am I completely missing something here?

I think you have it right. The pic shows a negative offset of 0.8 inches (wider track width), yet when you read the ProLine written description, it talks about how the offset is configured so as to give narrower track width, which would be "positive" offset as you say.
I think ProLine has a mistake there on the web site.

The Wabash are made that way for the Revo. To my knowledge, none of the other wheels are made specifically to keep the revos stock width.

I do as well, I know pro-lines only rims that make the truck narrower are the waybash, I like you two am confused by prolines chart.Im going to e-mail pro-line about this and find out what they say.

This is the reply i got regarding this matter.
Matt,
Thank you for supporting Pro-Line/PROTOform products. Originally we were comparing the wheels to what is offered stock on the T-MAXX trucks. With all the different trucks on the market today, the offset is not always the same. So saying that it is 1/2 inch offset compared to stock is no longer correct in some cases. All of our wheels that were originally 1/2 inch offset are now being referred to as Zero Offset. Zero offset means that the wheel connects to the vehicle at the center of the wheel. The REVO uses wheels that are -.8 offset. So it actually has less than 1/2 an inch offset (according to the old way). Any zero offset wheel or 40 series wheel will work.
If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me directly.
Thank you for the mail and have a great day!

The issue I have with this is that nobody else refers to it that way. It will only confuse. I think it's a bad move.
If they choose to keep the identifier, they should call the Maxx spec offset "Stock" (-0.5") or something similar.

Can someone answer this for me: Will they fit on the Revo?
My LHS said I would have to trim some of the ribs inside the wheel, AND I would lose some steering.
Thanks.

Yeah, it's the stock T-Maxx "stock" monster truck wheel size only the offset pushes each wheel 1/2" out away from the diff.
