I finished building and I have a few problems. I connected all of the wires and tested the motor out ( not on the ground) and the motor sparks and starts to smell. Sort of like the slot car motors do. Also, I tried to test the servo, but it didn't work. It might be a stupid connection mistake but I don't know. I'll try to get some pictures up later but I have to go.

If you can give us some more information Motor (how old and what type), ESC, Radio and any thing else including connector type. Sounds like either one of your wires were crossed or some electrical problem occurred.

You should change the topic title. Your problem has nothing to do with the TC4. All electrical.
Check the wiring, sure it's ok? Are the servoplug inserted into the reciever correctly?
Disassemble the motor. Is it worn out? Something binding? Something caught between the brushes and comm?

The motor is a brand new Reedy 19 T the radio is a JR XS3, and the esc is a LRP IPC super sport Forward/Brake.

Before operation can be done you first must perform a setup steps. Radio should be adjusted first, according to radio or esc manual steps. Radio should be on during the esc setup steps, motor does not have to be hooked up during this step but it can be. Once the esc has been setup and your are happy with that then move to steering servo centering or adjusting it or tie rods so front wheels are straight. It you make a mistake when doing the setup step with esc, just disconnect the battery, wait 10-15 seconds and redo it. For 4 wire esc yellow/blue wire goes to motor, the red/black goes to battery if three wire esc black is negative to battery, blue negative to motor, you need to use an extra piece of wire forming a T where one end connects to battery Pos, the other connects to motor positive terminal. If using the JR receiver the plugs may have to be changed to correct wiring sequence - that is in the manual for esc.
