What luck I must have http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/frown.gif I got a TC3 Racer/Accord body from Tower Hobbies. Came week before last, but had a Stratus body inside instead of the Accord. I called up Tower and they told me to call TA.

I called TA and they sent me out an Accord body which got here Friday. I painted it last night and got up this morning to take off the plastic film on the outside of the body and the stuff WON'T COME OFF.

Now I have done plenty of car bodies, but none has been this STUBORN. I have tried my fingernail, and exacto blade and all kinds of tricks. How do I get this crap off????

Is there even a plastic film on it. Maybe they forgot.

It looks like there is a film on it...b/c some of the body lines look a bit "soft"

**** thing has a big *** dent in the top of the trunk too where the spoiler mounts.

What a sucky experience http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/frown.gif I should call them up again and tell them to get their act together.

No, Protoform does not use an overspray film on the outside of their bodies, that's why you're having trouble finding it.... http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

WTH!!!!!!!!???????

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Wait a sec, the TC3 manual said that it had an overspray covering...at least I think it did.

Anyway, I'm so used to Tamiya and HPI's kindness.

I'm never getting another Proto body!!

I just took for granted that every other body that I have done (which has been quite a few) has had overspray protection.

I guess it was just layers of plastic. I was only trying to peels little bits from the very corners of the wheel wells.

Oh well, I got out some of my fine sanding pads and started sanding off the paint. Slow, but making progress.

So what have you been peeling off?....does polycarbonate have layers? Bummer about your experience.

won't the sanding degrade the paint job? howbout a chemical remover

it's still smooth?
i know your sandiong off overspray but was concerned about roughening up the outer surface and making it UGLY

I don't care about it being too ugly, it's a bash around body.

The body that I do care about is the Ferrari 360 Modena that I am waiting to get in stock at Tower Hobbies http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
