Why has Tower slowed down so much? The last two orders have taken about a week and a half to two weeks  . They used to only take about three or four days from the time I placed the order. Anyone know what's going on?

I haven't seen it with my orders. Mattter of fact my last order arrived (past Monday) a day early, making time from order to arrival 3 days (Houston, TX). Maybe its the package delivery coimpany??

Ya, maybe it's because they have been smaller orders. They usually come UPS or USPS.

They shipped my stuff fed ex ground before and I always had it in 2-3 days. Now they use UPS all the time and the time to get my order has doubled.

It might have had to come from Illinois instead of Reno. I live in WA st. and the stuff from Reno is a lot faster getting here. UPS takes longer than USPS also.

i live about 2-3 hours away from tower. so if they ship it in the morning or afternoon, i'll just get the next day.

It is possible not everything you ordered was in stock that instant, in which case the entire order is held up while they wait for the whole list to be completed.

ya, i have noticed the same thing, and they have a wherehouse about 2 hours from here, that they ship from all the time. the problem lies in fraud. They have to manual check each order to be sure that everything is legit, this takes time, and with companys that have super large customer base, it becomes a delay.
i worked for geeks.com for quite a few years, and the same thing ended up happing to them, and at the same time they almost had a 'supply & demand' failur.
im not tring to advertise, but www.myrcsupply.com has great turnaround time, for replacement parts.

I also think it varies on delivery area, whether you paid CC, DC, Check, MO. Different transactions require different ways to clear the monies paid in, therefore time taken up in delivery. JMHO!

My mate & i put in an order (1st) & it took 2-3 weeks to get to Sydney Aust.
The last order he put in for a "Revo" got to Sydney in about 5 days...
So may be the comment about "Fruad" is a valid one...!
But when you can save hundreds of $$`s, it`s worth the wait.. :)

I also think they use two different warehouses for products. This may be the case as it has been for me with other manufacturers. My orders have taken longer than if I buy off ebay, but their delivery dates are always accurate and they deliver on time even if it does take a couple of extra days.

I 've seen Reno, Nevada & Champainge, Illiniose as delivery source............................................ ..............................might be which ever is closer and has product on hand. Otherwise get it from supplier first then shipped to you?

I think it has to do with how big of an order you put in. These last two orders I have done have been smaller which usually takes longer to get to me. But in the past when I have ordered larger orders(kits, radios, wheels/tires, etc.) they have come in about three days, so I don't know.

Yeah, for some reason there was a delay on my order (haven't gotten yet) and my horizon order isn't here either.
Stormer ships the fastest, but they are farther away (i am in NC).

some times tower will use a logistics company to ship. they did this to me on back orders a lot because its dirt cheap for them to do it. when that happens your looking at 2-6 weeks.

Tower does have two warehouses - one in Champaign Illinois and one in Reno Nevada. I've placed orders and had two separate shipments - one from each warehouse. It depends on which warehouse has what in stock. When I've ordered and everything came from Reno, it has taken considerably longer to reach me. The main reason for that is that shipments from Reno to where I live (metro Austin, Texas) go through a greater number of drop points. Why something from Reno to Austin has to go through Kansas City, MO is beyond me but that's how it works. When my order comes from Champaign, I usually get it within three or four shipping days even though I usually use the cheapest shipping method (I'm a member of the club thing).
Sometimes it also depends on the shipping courier. I get stuff from Tower via USPS and UPS. If it's shipped via UPS, I know that it'll take at least two to three days longer. I don't think those guys work on some weekend days. The order that's on its way to me from Champaign is coming via UPS and when I looked at the tracking details last night, I noticed that it took two days to get from one drop point to another in the same city. I hate UPS. I wish they would "race the truck" and crash it into a wall that doesn't have the new barrier system.

i thought i was the only one who hated UPS! its to the point that i will not even consider shopping online at some sites because they use them, even ebay sellers who use them.
for what ever reason, the shipping costs with companies that just use UPS are always more and they take a few days longer then other carriers.
yall aren't alone, I completely dispise UPS (for being so slow!) and somewhat Fed Ex (overcharging!) so naturally I've always used USPS priority for everything (cheap and fast) plus my mom works for USPS (employee priority? :D )
anyways, there are soooooo maaaannnyyyy reasons a package could be delayed.
• employee shortage at the distributor (unlikely)
• mechanical failure on the truck or plane
• weather delays for planes
• getting lost (extremely unlikely)
• out of stock (most likely)
• and the truck deliverying the product to the distributor could have also had problems as well
• overwhelming number of orders (in that case its a good thing......for them)
• and the least likely....a tornado dropping down and sucking the truck up into ablivion
many many reasons
I've also noticed a pattern with towers.
With every order it automaticly takes 2 buisiness days to verify your payment and compile your order, and that status on "order history" changes to shipped once they've given it to their shipping agent (I'm assuming they have one....I would imagine so)and an e-mail is sent once the agent has shipped out the package, usually, I get the package the day after I get the Email.
So disregarding the 2 mandatory days, it really takes them only 1 day or so to actually deliver it, via USPS priority that is.
twice I ordered some Pactra rattlecans via UPS ground and it took 3 weeks to get here (thats 2 and a half weeks of staring at an unpainted body! ) last order I did for rattlecans was via Fedex ground which only took 1 extra day then my typical order.
and has anyone tried out that new DHL company? I'm curious as to how they are.

I've got a tower story.
Its not about shipping, but it seems they have slowed down a little. Probably due to me ordering on holidays.
Anyway, I ordered a Tamiya kit, couple of props and 2 pairs of rims for my Ofna rebuild.
One pair of rims was back ordered, Im thinking thats OK these thing things will happen.
It took about 1 week for my back order to get to me and I opened the bag to find 1, thats right, I said 1, rim.
Someone had OPENED the factory Ofna bag and took 1 rim out.
Of course the back order said quantity "1" .
I called and they said they had never heard of such a thing but as soon as they "get more" they will send them right out.
Oh well, back to the shelf for that truck. :(
BTW, this will not affect whre I shop online.
Thanks for listening to me whine,
