Well I'm contanstly posting mini bodies and decided to try and do a 1/10-1/8 body. I have many rc's but I tend to enjoy doing the mini's because of the size and the time it takes to paint one. Well I purchased this Hemi body to see what I could do and see if I have the skills to make it look trick. I also had a bottle of Fasglitter dark violet, laying around and wanted to see what I could use this on. I explain more later but I have to run and go to ups now so I'll post a teaser for now and in a 3 hrs I'll post more. :D
The pick may look a little blurry but this was intentional:)--I'm sick I know

So here's the scoop on Fasglitter: Get ready to make a mess because glitter will end up everywhere! You have to mix this stuff with fascoat 1:1 and shake very well. After your done spraying make sure that you give the faskoat enough time to dry 10-15minutes. Spray enough coats of fasglitter till your happy with the results then back it with another color. Originally I was going to back it with Spaz Sfix deep chrome red, but adrcracing (who I consulted with) warned me that this color would bleed through my design. So I decided to use deep purple with the red fasglitter. When the body is not in the sun it looks like deep purple. Then once the sun hits it-----Holy smokes it's nothing but bling. I did a simple fire design on the top of the hemi and also raised the hemi by 10mm with a coulple of nuts. The flames jobs are done in my own style and all this was performed with the help of Bob Dively's LM. Be warned though that the fasglitter will make it difficult to remove the masking so I would recommend doing all of your tiny details first and leaving the base coat/fasglitter coat for the end.

Thanks guys/gals, you know: of all the paint jobs that are out there their is none other that I love the most than the Gravedigger scheme. Green flames with red outlines and a black body!! Very sweet.

I'd ahve to say this is my favorite body I've seen from you. You still kept your style, but IMO this one works alot better than any of your others, mabye becuase in 1/18th everything gets kinda crunched due to the tiny size. Very nice looking.

Very cool, Resp... "smokin" as they say.
Even got that lightnin' ripplin' across the vinyl top, too.
Hey, I sure would love to see what you'd do with a Boxter body on that chassis.
   :D

For all those you don't know how to do lightning here's a tip: Use a small fine brush and paint your lightning stripes in white. Then while your using your airbrush to give it its' glow, back the body with black paper. This helps you see what your doing. And lastly only go over each lightning stripe once!!! If you go over it too many times with your airbrush you will not be able to see you thin lightning stripes once you paint your final base coat.
Thank you all for you compliments. What I try to do each time I paint is apply a new technique.

Mmmmm....glitter :D Naturally, I like the purple and pink. The glitter looks kinda pinkish, too (maybe because of pics being taken indoors?)
Great job on the lightning, too. I think you have that one nailed!
oops. edit: Mike - the engine comes with the body, but you still have to paint it.

Parma makes an engine kit but it costs $20.00 for it. It is very realistic, but you'll only be able to see half of it. If your doing a concurse body, then maybe it would be of use. But for a racing body i wouldn't buy it.

Hey Res,
Great job overall..I generally don't post comments on paintjobs as I'm a simple "spray it one-color and be done" slacker, but I still drool just the same as everyone here. Excellent finish on the engine and blower!!!!
