I am looking to upgrade to a better transmitter for my Wild Willy 2. I currently have an Airtronics Rival Sport AM. I am just planning to bash around. Which one of the following is the best?
1. Caliber 3PS
2. XL2P
Also, which is the best Airtronics servo for steering?
thanks

I used to have a 3PS, they're nice! They were the best radio out until they released the M8 I think. If you can afford it, get the 3PS. It's also reversible for lefties. Not sure about the servos though, it's been a while since I've looked into em.

If your just going to bash around you do need a computer radio.Any budget fm radio should be fine like the Futaba2Pecka,hitec lynx fm, etc.Unless you want to get a computer radio.

JR's XR3 is the best bang for the buck.

So what's the major difference between the non CPU radios, and the CPU controlled radios?

You can buy the new reciever now. It is 99.99 at tower. I ave never had experience with the novak recievers but they sound good.

I don't have a XXL myself, but I know plenty of guys who do, & I've never heard of anyone having a problem with it. There have been some problems with Novak's older designs(with certain radios, it was kinda spotty), but the XXL seems to work perfectly with any radio made. As for the XXtra(that's the new Novak one), it should be just like the XXL, since it essentially is a XXL with synthesized tuning(no more crystals). Oh, & for the difference between computerized & non-computerized radios, the biggest thing is having memory to set them up for multiple cars, but some also add features like ABS(it simply pulses the brakes at a rate you select, it doesn't actually sense any wheel slippage) & the ability to customize the steering & throttle curves(though good analog radios can do that some, too)..... http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I HAD the cx2p, its analog controls didn't center my steering servo correctly. IF you want to upgrade to a radio get a digital one. They are by far the better deal even though they cost more.

I have the XR2 also it is a great Radio. I used to have a Hitec Lynx Am and the servo trims and trottle trims moved all the time. I would always have to change the trims back to the correct settings. With digital I will not lose the memory.
