I was interested in buying the DuraTrax IntelliPeak but I am having second thoughts. A lot of people on the boards are saying that it is jusnk and it gives off false peaks. It just seems like a lot of chrager for a small price. I was looking at the Mini Pulse. Let me know what you think. Thanks in advance.

I've got the Digital Intellipeak, it does false peak, but don't all chargers false peak once inawhile? It false peaks more on stick packs. I have a couple of matched packs and they charge all the way to 2000 + with no problems. Can't beat the price either.

I hear this question alot they are great chargers but the mini power suplys are extremly unreliable. After burning out my 5th ps i decided to get a reliaable powersuply. i have two of the digital chargers and i have them wired together in paralell hooked up to a 30 amp bulldog power suply- no more problems.

Oh yeah, if you have them hooked up to a reliable power supply it is a great racing charger.

But the I-Peak does work reliable, right? It is a good second peak charger???

I love my Intellipeak Charger. It works great on my 2400's and 1500's. Just got a new 3000 and it's a little bit of a pain get the batt cycled. But I hear was you get them cycled it works great on 3000's also. :p

I think the intellipeak digital is a very good charger.I use one to charge my 3 RC-2400 Trinity Racing packs and in about 100 charges it false peaked maybe twice. All my packs show a capacity of 2500 to 2650 according to the display after charging and have great punch and long run times with this charger. For the money it's hard to beat.I haven't had any problems with the power supply and always charge at a rate of 5 amps. The power supply and the charger itself both have temp controlled fans and don't run hot for me.

I never had any problems with my barebones Intellipeak. If you opt to go with the normal charger (non -deluxe and non-digital display) then you should make a fan harness for it to dissipate the heat since the power supply is integral to the charger. I have owned my charger 6 months and it has false peaked 2 times. Both were with my NiMH 3000's and not with any of my 2400 NiCd's or 1800's. But I repeak anyway fir security so it's no big deal for me.

I had the smallest intelipeak charger, and it did nothing but false peak. My older Tekin Bc 67 worked much better, and I have a millenium now.

Mine false peaks occasionally, but if y9ou know how long it should take, its not a problem, you just hit thye button again. It never false Peaks 1500s but sometimes on 2400 stick packs.

On a race day I charge 10 different 2400 packs and it never false peaks. When i was using the mini power suplys i would have to let them ool down for 10 minutes inbetween charges. The powersuplys got hot and so did the connectors that conected the charger to the mini powersuplys.

I have the Intellipeak. It does false peak on my pre-built non matched stick packs. Packs that I have built with matched cells do not false peak. It is not really a big issue, you are probably going to peak them a couple of times if you are racing anyway. I think for the features it offers it is the best in its price range. I would not shell out the extra $25 for the digital, if I was going to spend that much I would jump up to an Integy 16x5 or a pit bull.

Those new duratrax chargers are very much the same as what Integy sells. I have been using the Integy 16x2 v. 2.5 for a while now, mostly on nimh packs, it works great for me. It was $130 from Integy and is AC/DC powered

Again, my digital runs just fine. As far as false peaking, I think it did it only once when I first charged a new matched 2400 pack. Of course I cycled it a couple times. Bats run great and seem to have revamped them after storage for 3 years (1700's and 2000 trinity world tech batteries.) One way to be sure that they are fully charged is to see how much Mah they packed in the bat during the charge. For my 1700's I know 1800mah + is a good charge for them. My 2000 will get 2100-2300mah's. And my 2400's will get 2600-2700mahs. So I use these numbers to determine if they get a good charge. If not, just repeak them. I charge at 4amps and so far have no problems with my power supply. I think with proper use and care it will last a good long time. I like the charger. It works good with me! :D
